April 12-18, 2026 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
We are proud of the work of our members who are OPP Communicators & Call Takers, and thank all Telecommunicators in all First Responder roles for their dedicated service. They are on the front lines of every call for service, keeping the community & our police officers safe.
Often Communicators & Call Takers are in the background, & seldom in the news headlines. To all of you, we see you everyday, and appreciate all you do.
For fellow members and the public, this week if you know, or encounter a Communicator or Call Taker, we encourage you to take a moment to express your appreciation.

After 39 years of policing, Provincial Constable Rob Walker is retiring.
He started his career in Metro Toronto as a cadet in 1987, and joined the OPP in 2001.
He spent a large portion of his career investigating the most serious and tragic collisions as a collision recontrructionist.
After joining #CambridgeOPP in 2020, he is now starting a new chapter in his retirement.
Well deserved, and congratulations!
"I loved every minute of it." Rob Walker. #BestJobEver ^ks
