Usually focused on the economy & housing. However, as long as Trump is actively working to destroy our republic, I also choose to weigh in on those actions.
@usanticommunist@Hedgeye That may be comforting to your biases, but it's republicans that blocked funding in their budget bill for reclassification, period. And, recreational is legal in 20 blue states, but only 5 red states.
@S1MUL810@Hedgeye The theocrats in the house leadership don't support it. They included an amendment that blocked any federal funds from being used for rescheduling:
@MacroEdgeRes I wonder what it's like to live in complete denial of any bad news, and be able to invent good news as needed? Must be nice for Trump and his cult followers. OTOH, he may fool some of the people some of time, but it's doubtful he'll fool enough of them in November.
AI bubble aren't built with equity, they're built with debt:
@edels0n: Oracle's very bad year just got $7 billion worse. The state of Wisconsin, where Oracle wants to build a massive AI data center, is demanding $7 billion in collateral before construction begins.
Why?
Because Oracle's credit rating is, well, bad. The S&P Global just downgraded Oracle to BBB minus. That's just one rung above junk status, which means that lending to Oracle now means taking on more risk..."
@DiMartinoBooth Look closely at homeownership rates and you'll see the current rate is higher than almost every year in the last 60+ years outside of the 2000s bubble and its aftermath.
Every morning I write about someone Iran just executed, within minutes, a message arrives a mother, a sister, a friend, begging me to write about their loved one who is on the death row. Before it's too late.
This is why I want to write before the execution of this young woman, not after. Arghavan Fallahi. 24 years old. Evin Prison. Sentenced to death.
Judge Salavati one of Iran's most notorious hanging judges, sentenced her under "Baghi," armed rebellion.
During months in solitary confinement, she was subjected to severe psychological torture and pressure to make forced confessions. But she refused. So they sentenced her to death anyway.
Fellow female prisoners who were with Arghavan inside Evin say her situation is urgent. The torture has left her with severe psychological trauma and physical illness. She is not just facing the death sentence, she is suffering right now, inside that cell. But is still alive and is still time to save her life.
Please join me and help us Iranians to say her name now and demand international community and the leader leaders of the world to put pressure on these that republic to stop them from executing her and other political prisoners.

@jackpitcher20 How on earth does the current CIO of Vanguard believe that offering 400bps/yr cost private asset exposure in a complicated illiquid structure is in line with Bogle's vision?
@DiMartinoBooth More accurate to look at existing homes / households, but the answer is the same. A housing shortage didn't suddenly happen since 2019. However, a listing shortage was created when the fed kept rates at zero and suppressed mortgages rates far too long:
@HiggsDoig@MichaelKovrig True, but unlimited trade had bipartisan support based on the naive assumption that trade would lead to more open societies and democracy.
@Hanakookie1@GestaltU There's over 60% support, so no way immigration is the key factor. Regardless, Trump's corporate fascism is failing to improve the prospects for most Americans so voters will continue to support candidates promising even fanciful solitions.
In addition to the explosion of margin debt in dollar terms (up 50% Y/Y to $1.5T), as a percentage of GDP it's 4.6% vs. 3% at the https://t.co/qfgqwjVZ3j bubble top in 2000. The level of speculation in today's market is epic.
