Good that the EAM took up the killing of Indians with the State Secretary level, after the meek initial response of the MEA which didn't even name the US. But the official State Department statement is utterly insensitive, though not shocking. It shows no regret, expresses no condolences for the loss of Indian lives and offers no course correction. Instead, it almost blames the victims for "violating" the illegal U.S. blockade in the Gulf of Oman. What kind of a comprehensive strategic partnership we are talking about when one side is shooting missiles at the sailors of the other in waters close to the latter's shores? Like any self-confident, rising country, India must also treat the killing of its nationals by foreign powers as the brightest of our red lines.
The Prime Minister's silence is not helping him politically or the country geopolitically.
Surely, that was not meant for China? Over the last year, the US has done the most to legitimize Pakistan's sponsorship of terrorism against India. It is the same Pakistan that has very deep military ties with China. One day, the US asks India to buy Russian oil;... 5/8
I'll get yelled at for saying this but this is another example of a stmt that might play well w/in India but will be a strategic communications loss for India abroad.
Whatever nuance/caveats of actual practice, it'll be seen abroad as "India denying water to parched Pakistanis"
The strategic interests of India and the US do not converge. This has been clear for the last four years. Some people who believe in a simplistic application of structural realism, according to which both countries have a common rival in China,... 1/8
Deeply shocking to read this official US statement, which contains absolutely no expression of regret or condolence for the loss of innocent Indian lives. How can a “friend” and strategic partner be so deeply insensitive?
Why couldn’t a non-compliant commercial vessel have been stopped using other, non-lethal means? Is it not possible to disable a ship's propulsion or steering without firing missiles targeted to kill civilian crew members?
Practically every merchant ship navigating these crucial waters has Indian crew on board. Are they all considered fair game for US missiles now?
This approach is unacceptable and I hope @DrSJaishankar had said so to @marcorubio.
It is the short sightedness of the Indian Air Force and GoI that IAF pilots are paying by flying An-32.
40 year old transport aircraft and we still have 100 of them, not an easy task to replace them.
>One Indian diplomat was arrested in USA over visa fraud and other charges.
Indian babooze revoked most privileges given to American embassy, caused massive long term rift in diplomatic relations and made the news run in media for weeks.
>Russians fraudulently entrapped and caused deaths of dozens of Indian citizens in their war.
All lips sealed.
>USA deliberately fired on civilian ships causing death of 3 Indian citizens and injuries to more. What are our babooze doing now?
Calling American ambassador for chai-biskoot and optics. Indian babooze-neta cabal cares only when their own asses are on fire. Lives of regular citizens and national interests don't matter that much.
US did not fire on their own citizens(Sailor) but on Indian sailors in Hormuz .
A Shadow fleet driven by American sailors attempted to evade U.S. sanctions and move illicit oil. By refusing lawful orders from the U.S. Coast Guard and leading them on a chase across the Atlantic Ocean
Absolutely scandalous that porkis:
1. Have more no of AEWACS than IAF
2. Have constituted Integrated Rocket force post Sindoor before us .
3. Placed more satellites in space than us in last 12 months
4. Have more no of Self propelled artillery than IA
This is simply unacceptable and should force a massive churn, structural changes and even soft purges in Indian military & MoD
Attack on Another Ship onboarding Indian Sailors near Strait Of Hormuz. Tanker Liaki Freedom. 4 crew have been dead. More details Awaited.

I do think that India needs to reformulate its nuclear doctrine. However, the biggest threat to its doctrine is not a damage-limitation strike but a major conventional attack from 🇨🇳. Also, it is not that difficult to deter a damage-limitation strike under the current doctrine.
Was speaking to a former diplomat and he said that if we encompass the last two years of decisions, actions taken by the US administration under Trump wrt India we will see that they have acted like an adversary rather than a strategic partner. Something similar that I was told by a serving army and an intelligence official. And they are not wrong in their assessment.
Here's the @CENTCOM post clarifying that it did strike three oil tankers that attempted to transport Iranian oil.
These are the tankers carrying Indian sailors.
There has been no mention anywhere of "Iranian drones on Indian ships."
Likely a figment of Trump's imagination.
Long list.
Germany- Any Indian soldier killed by the Pakistan army post 1960s- would’ve been shot by a Heckler & Koch G3 rifle or H&K MG3 machine gun.
France - 5 Agosta submarines.
Sweden- SAAB Erieye AEW&C
also Sweden- Wah Nobel industries - makers of the RDX which blew 257 Mumbaikars to bits in 1993…
The British High Commissioner is the first dignitary to reach the crash site to pay homage to the victims of the Air India crash last year.
At the crash site, there are no visible preparations for a remembrance ceremony, which speaks volumes about how cheaply human lives are valued in our
country.
Reminder, one of India's largest oil supplier used to be Iran and that was completely disrupted due to US foreign policy postures around JCPOA negotiations. And in the end, for nothing. Fact that it may be Russia on and off now is in part of Washington's own making.
