We have residents in Niagara waiting a year for an MRI - but instead of fully funding our public system and addressing the staffing crisis, Ford is spending your tax dollars on speeding up beer sales, while he privatizes health care services. #onpoli 🧵

Today is International Firefighters Day.
Words cannot express how grateful we are to our firefighters for everything they do to keep us safe, being there for us in our worst moments, and for giving back to our communities.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
On this solemn day of mourning, I was honored to attend EDLC’s touching ceremony, paying tribute to those we have lost. Today, we gather to remember the lives of loved ones, colleagues, friends, and all those who have left an indelible mark on our hearts and in our communities.
The Ford Conservatives callous disregard to address a terrible situation facing seniors is shameful.
In Mississauga 200 retirement homes residents were served with a 90 day eviction notice.
The union alleges Chartwell planned a year ago to sell.
Seniors deserve better protection
Doug Ford is fining an 83-year old cancer survivor and her family hundreds of dollars a day - for the crime of wanting to live in a long-term care home of her choosing, close to her family.
This government's treatment of seniors is shameful.🧵

Lexi Bowman gives an impactful talk @opffa Seminar on what causes fire fighter cancer, such as PFAS. Lexi lost her father @WPFFA_481 Capt. Craig Bowman 47 yrs old to occupational cancer. Their sacrifice led the Bill 127 - The Craig Bowman Act that now better protect Ontario 👨🚒🧑🚒
Just love my IAFF brothers and sisters. Check out the news IAFF: "EPA bans carcinogenic #asbestos in the U.S." Thank you @IAFFPresident and @IAFFofficial for your dedication and leadership! https://t.co/ZUTqGk5j9X #mesothelioma Love our NYC billboard efforts too!
MNRF Minister Graydon Smith and Labour Minister Piccini need to stop ducking these workers and listen to the voices of forest firefighters, reclassify them as well as grant them the same WSIB coverage as urban firefighters. The Ford government needs to start Working for Workers.
Delivered a letter to Minister Piccini (MOL) today asking for a meeting to make sure that Forest Firefighters have their classification changed so that they are considered “firefighters” and eligible for presumptive cancer coverage. Proper pay and PPE are also much needed!
The Ford government is playing games with the lives & health & safety of wildland forest firefighters. Labour Minister Piccini needs to actually use the words forest firefighters and grant them the recognition they deserve. @GraydonTheMPP@OPSEU https://t.co/MlHZnk0jZ3
During todays "clause by clause" of the Ford "Working for Workers Act" Bill 149, The government voted against recognizing Wildland Firefighters for the purposes of WSIA & other Acts, thereby denying them the rights to presumptive coverage for occupational illnesses. @OPSEU
FF Cancer Awareness Month shout out to @NeilMcMillan162. Whether it’s cancer, mental health or inclusion you will not find a bigger or fiercer advocate than Neil. He has spent years educating, researching & advocating for workers. Some talk the talk but he WALKS the WALK! …cont.
FF Cancer Awareness Month shout out to @Di_Cotter . You stood your ground and assembled a hell of a team. We as a profession wouldn’t be talking about PFAS front & center without Diane asking the questions and pushing for answers. The grassroots team had some exciting times!
Thanks to lobbying efforts, our friends in Parliament and the members doing the ground work this is the very first Nationally Recognized Fire Fighter Cancer Awareness Month in Canada! Thank you to all those involved.
