Surprising message of the day!
Eliminating infectious children from the classroom helps the individual child to recover, and it protects everyone else from infections.
Well done this preschool! 👏👏👏
@gmb the Stratus variant/XFG is not new. It was first identified in January 2025 & WHO labelled it a variant under monitoring in June 2025. Why the lies? Why do you have a Professor from the University of Reading & an expired GP as experts? Why not have the SARS2 experts on? 🤷🏻♀️
The minimising is back. Why are you lying to the public @GMB ? This isn’t a new strain. Covid hasn’t just come back this autumn. We have waves every year that you refuse to report on. Last autumn we had a huge wave, peaking in early October. More people become disabled every wave

So much has profoundly changed in our schools since the pre-pandemic era:
Pupil absence levels (fuelled by illness);
Teacher absence levels (fuelled by illness);
Pupil behaviour;
Children's development;
Children's emotional regulation...
Here in the UK, we're now in the eighth school year since the start of the pandemic.
We are also in the midst of the thirteenth wave of Covid-19.
Illness...
Harm...
Change...
Disruption...
It's never stopped.

@CrealyResort appears to require #disabled guests to go through Nimbus for its Ride Access Pass & Essential Companion scheme, and says other evidence won’t be accepted So if Nimbus doesn’t award the right symbol, Crealy may refuse the adjustment. That is a serious access barrier
@DDovey60334@safxtypingirl@Chuffin_ell She is masked around the carer too. But there's also the fact it *should not be necessary* to have to go through extra steps when our existing proof worked fine, not needing a third party to re-assess (esp since thats trauma associated cos of DWP).
It would be cheaper, produce better hospital results, health outcomes and free capacity, if people were not catching infections in hospitals. Ventilation and FFP3 respirators are effective against airborne infections. @YvetteCooperMP @DHSC please consider them in this Covid wave.

Jean-André Prager, a member of the Timms review steering group, is the leading author of a new report calling for extreme cuts to child DLA for mental health, learning difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions.

I wonder who will be the first senior practising healthcare leader to decide that enough is enough and that it is time to stop infecting patients (and other staff) with avoidable, life-shortening airborne viruses?

Genuine question for @nimbusdis: what evidence shows disabled people need an additional assessment to access venues, when many venues have historically accepted a range of existing disability evidence? For many, this feels less like accessibility and more like another gatekeeping and profiteering exercise.
Thanks @AyshahTull and @Channel4News for continuing to cover this unsafe, intrusive, massively expensive bedroom spy cam system, Oxevision / LIO Health
And the work on this from @StopOxevision is outstanding

The home secretary has been asked why she is delaying the implementation of a “long overdue reform” that would take an “important step” towards equality for disabled victims of hate crime.
