Question for my criminal defence colleagues. Operation Early Dawn is said to be in place for a week. Genuinely asking what do they expect to be different next week? More cells? More vans? I don't get it.

@sglaisteryoung @thesecretbrief No it's really not 'okay'. It's abusive. Lawyers of all varieties take this rubbish in their stride. Even if it washes over you; its because we can become desensitized to being treated badly over time. So no Judge, client, opponent ..Its never ok

@pjm1kbw @doismellburning It's really means tested in reality as those on higher income have to repay it within their income tax code/ return. It's just more complex to apply a means test on receipt.

@DrJohnEGibson @Xeon4f145d96s1 @NCAlliance_NHS FYI These are the maximum rates that a Court considers a firm should charge and hence can be recovered in litigation. They are NEVER the sums paid to lawyers in salary. To suggest otherwise is misleading as I'd suggest salary levels are 1/3 to 1/5 of these rates.
