Today marks exactly 168 days our father @elrufai has been in detention.💔

To those entrusted with leadership and authority, remember this: power is temporary, offices are temporary, and this dunya is temporary. One day, every title will fade, every office will be vacated, and every one of us will stand before Allah to account for our actions.

Leadership is not measured by how much power you hold, but by how justly you exercise it. History remembers those who upheld justice, not those who clung to authority.

As we reflect on these 168 days, I pray that every decision is guided by truth, fairness, and mercy. May Allah soften hearts, uphold justice, and grant relief to those enduring hardship.

This dunya will pass. Justice, integrity, and our deeds are what remain.

Today marks 166 days since Malam Nasir Ahmad @elrufai lost his freedom.

For 166 days, his family has endured uncertainty. His supporters have waited in hope. And countless Nigerians have continued to ask one question:

How much longer?

Justice is not only about the final judgment it is also about ensuring that legal processes are fair, transparent, and without unnecessary delay. Every day that passes without clarity deepens pain, raises concerns, and weakens public confidence in the justice system.

We respectfully call on the relevant authorities to ensure that this matter is handled with fairness, due process, and urgency. If there is no lawful basis for continued deprivation of liberty, then justice demands that he be released without further delay.

A nation built on the rule of law must never allow justice to be overshadowed by uncertainty.

166 days is a long time.

May truth prevail.
May justice be served.
And may peace return to Malam Nasir El-Rufai, his family, and all those awaiting the conclusion of this matter.

Today marks exactly 165 days since our father, our leader, and a man many of us look up to, Malam Nasir Ahmad @elrufai, has remained in detention.

165 days is not just a number.

It is 165 days away from family.
165 days of uncertainty.
165 days of pain, worry and unanswered questions.
165 days that remind us how fragile freedom can become when the machinery of the state is involved.

Whatever the allegations may be, whatever political differences may exist, justice must never become a substitute for liberty, and detention must never become punishment before judgment.

Malam El-Rufai deserves due process, dignity and a fair hearing. His family deserves to have him home. And every Nigerian deserves to know that the law applies fairly, regardless of political affiliation or status.

I write this with a heavy heart:

Enough is enough.

We respectfully call on the relevant authorities to uphold the rule of law and release Malam Nasir El-Rufai without further delay, if there is no lawful basis to continue his detention.

This is Dr. Von Batten. Yesterday evening, I was informed by a journalist I respect that he had been told Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT) released a more than two-week-old letter from President @realDonaldTrump in response to our lobbying efforts here in Washington, D.C.

I was also informed by a different source that no actual letter was sent and that President Tinubu's team forgot to change the date from July 6 to July 22 in the released quotations. We are still working to verify this particular claim, but it appears President #Tinubu's apparent objective was to make it seem that the alleged letter from President @realDonaldTrump to him was sent after we briefed the White House on Tinubu's alleged heroin trafficking link. In reality, the alleged letter is dated weeks before our White House briefing. Stand by for updates.

As I reflect on my 67th birthday, my heart is filled with profound gratitude.

I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming outpouring of love, goodwill, prayers, phone calls, text messages, and birthday wishes I received from my family, friends, colleagues, political associates, and well-wishers across Nigeria, United Kingdom, and around the world.

Every message, every call, and every prayer reminded me of how richly blessed I am to have such remarkable people in my life. Your kindness, thoughtfulness, and affection made my birthday truly memorable and one I will cherish for many years to come.
