@JustPikachoo@starrybright @Heatherhornett @guyverhofstadt To be completely clear, this has nothing to do with the mutation of a virus which has caused a global pandemic and estimated to have killed over 1.7 MILLION people? Said mutation enables the virus to be spread far more readily. 2/
@JustPikachoo@starrybright @Heatherhornett @guyverhofstadt OK so the majority but not all. To clarify, France and the EU are prepared to punish the UK by persecuting thousands of their own nationals and causing enormous financial damage to European businesses? 1/
@starrybright @Heatherhornett @guyverhofstadt What every single one of those lorries is registered outside of the UK and is driven by t a foreign national?
@roggys Isn't it a damning inditement of our societies acceptance of the hostile environment we have created. But hey, it's OK, I drive a BMW and I'm more successful than you. The sanctity of life is secondary to my social status.
@allpartycycling Yep, both my in-laws and many of their friends. Cycle several times a week and often in excess of 20 miles. A couple have e-bikes but the majority still under their own steam.
@ChrisThinkbiker@DenisePichler Children, the elderly, the disabled being able to travel around urban environments should be the priority with vehicular traffic the secondary consideration. This involves change of both infrastructure and legislation.
@ChrisThinkbiker@DenisePichler Wow, that's some serious victim blaming there! If our roads are not safe for pedestrians to cross then they are not designed properly. How about we think of the other end of the spectrum, the elderly.
@AusterfieldM@ChrisThinkbiker That's interesting and unique to your local area. I can't think of any schools on primary routes near me. Unfortunately there is no cheap or easy option. The problem lies in historically planning our travel around the motor vehicle.
@ChrisThinkbiker@DenisePichler 🤣🤣my opinion? How can a pedestrian or an approaching vehicle see each other if there is vehicle parked in the line of sight?
Being hit by a car at any speed can result in injury. I'm not sure how a child's ability to judge a vehicles speed comes into this.
