When powerlines are down for weeks, you're Off-Grid whether you like it or not. Solar + V2H + Biofuel from waste provides reliable energy for critical functions
@newstart_2024 Nutritionists fed highly-processed sugar-laden breakfast cereal to a group of rats. They fed the cardboard box the cereal came in to another group of rats.
Can you guess which group of rats was healthier, happier & lived longer?
@frank144@SavageOnTheSun@Rothmus You sell oil and gas to the highest global bidder.
You have demonstrated zero loyalty to local consumers. You deserve zero loyalty in return.
@ediz1975@n00dles71 The idiots are pedestrians who step into a bus lane, car lane, or cycle lane without first looking left and right for oncoming traffic.
What is the meaning of "ridiculously large batteries"?
There are practical size limits to batteries for mobile applications. Even then, size and weight limits can be overcome with battery swap systems.
There's not much of a battery size and weight limit for stationary applications. If necessary, batteries can be underground.
@auto_moto_pl Slippery roads due to diesel spill or small oil spills?
Small engine oil spills make roads slippery after the first rain in a while. Further rain washes away accumulated engine oill.
The problem is batteries can't last long enough to completely fill solar-wind gaps. Multi-fuel linear generators fix that problem.
As battery capacity gets cheaper, more battery capacity can be added so multi-fuel linear generators are needed less and less. If you can't understand that, or you're pretending to not understand, there's not much anyone can do except ignore your gaslighting attempts.
Nuclear fission is expensive to build. Local backup power is needed for critical loads in case transmission or distribution lines fail.
Terrorists sabotaged transmission lines in/near Berlin recently. Are you not familiar with that incident???
Delivery bots are easily replaceable. Human delivery people are not.
Autonomous or remotely controlled delivery trikes or bikes can travel fast enough to share roads with large vehicles such as cement trucks. Again, no big deal if they get run over.
The fire engine should have run over the delivery bot. Humans get in the way of fire engines all the time. Drivers can't run them over.
When drivers park in front of fire hydrants, firefighters smash the parked vehicle windows on both sides then pass hoses through.
Neighbor asked if they could use part of the shared driveway. The only rule was simple: don’t drive across the lawn.
A few minutes later they ignored the rule, cut across the grass, and immediately ripped the entire front bumper off their car 😭
Some lessons really do teach themselves.
@GregRom28918081@Rothmus It's about the cost of a single tank when someone needs to get to school or work or make a delivery with a combustion vehicle.
Gas guzzlers are disappearing from Uber apps and grocery deliveries. New Amazon delivery vans are electric.
@GregRom28918081@Rothmus False. ROI of solar is increasing. ROI of oil and refineries is dropping.
Economics of fission plants is poor.
It's far cheaper and more reliable to charge an EV mostly with onsite or nearby solar than to fill a combustion vehicle fuel tank with diesel or gasoline.
@GregRom28918081@Rothmus Very little oil compared to total energy output during lifespan. Not necessarily fossil oil.
Primary objective is to REDUCE fossil oil dependency, not replace it entirely
20-30 years is orders of magnitude longer than a tank of combustion vehicle fuel lasts.
Solar panels can be recycled. The most economical way of doing that is with automation.
Nuclear fission is the most expensive form of energy. The fossil fuel industry hopes fission fantasies will delay deployment of solar.
Glass doesn't decay. A single lead-acid combustion vehicle starter battery contains enough lead to contaminate an entire lake.
