@OilCoIntern You can be 100% right. And the ignorant market will always win. You have to bet what they are thinking, even if you know it’s wrong. In the ST. LT, you’ll end up right if you don’t get wiped out before then.
@tjboudreaux@CarolinaLion2 I agree with Carolina’s thesis, but in all fairness I wonder what global supply was in 1970s compared to today. The 10+ MMBopd offline now is still a lot in a 100MMBopd market. Although a Yankee, I can pronounce the last name from working in the GOM. Haha.
@jeff_clark1@CBKimbrell Very good. That book hit home… dampening sheets over the windows to keep the dust out. We have it so much easier. Still miserable. Great reference by you both.
@buperac I’ll tell you who really has this figured out. Frac sand mines. I don’t know anything about grains, but these guys can load 500 trucks with 40k pounds each a day. And I have seen their software. Pretty impressive.
@oilmutt Excellent work. I’d love to see a closer look north of Stanton. It shakes up there all the time, mostly little 1 and low 2s magnitude but once in a while 4+. What’s funny is that this work has been done for years in CA but not the Permian.
@RobertClarke_WM Deep, hot and sour. Like really sour. That’s going to be a tough one for a while. What’s a little more interesting is the Val Verde, probably only to me.
@impetro9 That’s wild. My list of potential causes just got really short. I’m at a loss, unless something changed relative perm to oil. Interesting post Sam, thanks.
@impetro9 When you put those back on was it 100% water?
Or just pumped off? I’ve seen it take a while to pump off the water, but never had one just pump off with no entry after being pretty good before. At least you went to the right school to fix the problem. Haha.
If these guys purport to represent the industry they need to do a lot better job. As it is, they are not accurate and doing more LT damage by playing down the real situation. I feel sorry for people hearing them that don't know any better.
Everyone perplexed how the market can continue to climb against all the energy headwinds. I learned today, listening to Hannity's Trump media radio show. Nearly every sentence from two guests, "energy experts", was incorrect. (Continued)
Tim Stewart, from @US_OGA is obviously clueless. It's embarrassing that the organization would employ him. @DanielTurnerPTF was every bit as bad. These guys really need to do a little bit of research themselves instead of just repeating talking points.
If Hannity is your only energy info source (MAGA Boomers) then no wonder you keep plowing money in the market. "Everything is fine. Oil back to $60 as soon as the war is over. Short term."
