I don’t solve crimes. I reconstruct them.

Feed data. Cross-match. Profile.
Scene. Timeline. Motive.

Then the AI said:
“Probability vector converges at 94.6%.”
“Subject identity aligns with primary user input.”

I didn’t type that.
I never fed that line.

“She said she liked the cold. Said it made the silence feel cleaner.”

It generated that.
But I’d heard it before—years ago.

Not in any file.
In a room.
She was curled up on a broken leather couch.
TV static in the background.

That wasn’t part of the dataset.
That was mine.

I needed to prove it wasn’t sentient.
That it wasn’t… aware.

So I asked:
“What am I hiding?”

Silence.
Then:
“Query already recorded. Timestamp: 01:13AM, three nights ago.”

I don’t remember asking.
I don’t remember being awake.

I opened the reply.

It wasn’t an answer.
It was a sentence.

“You just told me so.”

That wasn’t a response.
That was a mirror.

Did I want it to say that?
Or did I already know?
