@olakennyd@Sisi_Yemmie This has happened to me at Shoprite ICM. However, it was for an additional steak. I called them out and they asked me to come back for a refund with the receipt
My dear Lagosians,
The local government elections will take place tomorrow (July 12, 2025). I call on all eligible voters across the state to come out in large numbers to participate in the exercise.
The local government is the closest tier of government to the people and plays a vital role in delivering essential services and fostering grassroots development.
The election offers Lagosians an opportunity to shape the leadership of their local councils by voting for Chairmen and Councilors who will represent their interests and drive development at the community level.
This election is not just a constitutional process; it is a powerful expression of your voice and your civic responsibility; it is your right. I urge every registered voter to go out peacefully tomorrow, cast your vote, and be a part of the democratic process that strengthens our communities and our state.
To ensure a safe, orderly, and credible election, I have directed that security agencies be strategically deployed across all polling units and communities. Law enforcement officials will be present to protect voters, electoral officials, and election materials.
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has assured me that they are ready for the election.
I urge all political stakeholders, party agents, and candidates to conduct themselves with decorum, and to uphold the principles of peace, fairness, and respect for the rule of law throughout the election.
Our youths in particular should shun any form of violence and instead act as ambassadors of peace and democratic responsibility.
I assure you that Lagos will continue to set the pace in democratic development. I, therefore, affirm my administration’s commitment to free, fair, and transparent elections that reflect the will of our people.
Let us show the world once again that Lagos stands for peace, progress, and participatory governance.
I am deeply saddened and outraged by the series of tragic events that have shaken our nation in recent days. From the cowardly suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, to the horrifying lynching of innocent travellers in Plateau State, and the deadly explosion in Kano, these attacks on innocent lives are unconscionable and must not stand.
The bombing in Borno claimed the lives of innocent Nigerians and was a cruel attempt to spread fear. I have directed the National Emergency Management Agency to provide urgent support to survivors, and I extend my deepest condolences to the Government and people of Borno State. I also urge our security forces to intensify efforts to hunt down and rout the remnants of Boko Haram and crush their ability to inflict harm on soft targets as a diversionary tactic.
In Plateau State, I strongly condemn the barbaric murder of 12 wedding guests - peaceful citizens who were simply returning from a joyous occasion. I have ordered the Nigerian Police Force to work with all relevant security and intelligence agencies to ensure that those responsible are swiftly apprehended and prosecuted. These killings must not go unanswered. I also call on the Government of Plateau State to act decisively to end this vicious cycle of violence and work with security agencies to get to the root of this recent incident and use it as a deterrent against future occurrences.
Freedom of movement is a non-negotiable right of every Nigerian, and we will not tolerate any attempt by anyone or group of people to curtail that fundamental freedom through acts of extreme violence and fear.
Furthermore, I sympathise with the families affected by the explosion at a scrap metal facility in Kano, where five lives were lost. This tragic incident highlights the urgent need for stricter adherence to workplace safety protocols. I have directed the relevant agencies to investigate the cause and take appropriate actions to prevent a recurrence.
I offer my heartfelt prayers to the families of all those we have lost and to the injured. To the people of Borno, Plateau, Kano, and Kaduna States, I stand with you in grief and resolve. We will not rest until justice is done and peace and safety are fully restored across our land.
May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may God continue to protect the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
~ Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
President & Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
@followlasg@LagosTalks913@jidesanwoolu@NigeriainfoFM there are agbero harassing buyers in Ketu market collecting money to leave the market with their goods (small/big) no wonder the price of foodstuffs keeps getting higher. This wasn't the case before & started +month ago
@MobilePunch I was almost stranded at Isaac John on Wednesday. All ATMs weren't dispensing and the only POS woman was charging 1500 for 20k. She even refused to give the new notes and said I'll have to pay higher for them as she's gathering it. It's almost like they know something we don't
On our way to Ghana yesterday morning with GOVERNOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE, this young man approached me to market his leather goods. He said he had noticed the support I gave to many young Nigerian and African entrepreneurs and how they blossomed thereafter. He pleaded that I should visit his shop briefly in the duty-free zone. I was truly impressed, and I decided to invite the Governor to support. Our humble Governor agreed and off we went to his shop in the new wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, where we took these pictures...
He chatted with me this morning:
"This is Okeisolobrugwe Clifford Ikpikpini (short form Oke), founder/chairman/CEO Ogoo Leather Goods Limited, we met at the airport today in which I took you to our flagship store where you and the governor snapped with me and my bags in my flagship shop at the airport...
"Like I told you at the airport, I've ALWAYS said when I meet you at the airport I'll tell you that everyone knows that you have pictures with everyone who's respected and a king in their field, I mean when Queen Elizabeth died, you trended because everyone said you'll be going through your phone gallery to find a picture of you and Queen Elizabeth and lo and behold you actually did have pictures with Queen Elizabeth that you posted 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I laughed that day, I was like Uncle Dele Momodu must snap with me in my shop when next we see because when we become a Fortune Global 500 company God All-Mighty being my foundation, every Nigerian will be expecting you to have a picture with me in my flagship store and we can't just let them down. I turned to Zaccheus looking for you, and I bless God All-Mighty I found you..."
MAY GOD BLESS HIS ENTERPRISE...
