Welcome to the first season of the #parallelperspective. This podcast is a project of the Program of African Studies @africanstudiesnorthwestern at @NorthwesternU. Stay with me for more episodes.
With the way football is organised and played now, with subtle politics and clout, Nigeria must make sure that @NatSportsComm and @thenff do not install a mediocre leadeship in the September election. Someone like Mike Emenalo should head Nigerian football. He's well experienced.
Nigerians are not even bothered by what happened in the #Ekiti election, where #APC gave out other people's voters cards to strangers under the watchful eyes of @inecnigeria. With this "I don't care" attitude by Nigerians, 2027 will be another disappointment!
My heart broke when I saw the video of #APC candidate in Ekiti state throwing bread at people during a campaign. Nigerians have been so reduced to mere bread crumbs eaters....
Chai! Poverty has been so weaponized for elections in Nigeria!
Please, this is a serious matter o!
This woman and family need to leave South Africa. This is an entitlement mentality, and I'm sad South Africans have come to their lowest level!

This is serious. Zite is just 11. She is the daughter of Asa ObiSouth, a popular Nigerian content creator living in South Africa.
Every time Zite goes to dispose the bin, this their South African Peadophilic neighbour will be calling trying to force her into his apartment.
South African Men? E mere unu ya eme? Why always young, naive girls? Tufiakwa!
Asa Obisouth, please, pick your kids and leave that country. Stop jeopardising the safety of your family because you want to stay in South Africa!
@john322226 Forget Rio, he's with the English team in USA. They've given him an idea of what it means to be with the English national team. It'd take a miracle for him to change his mind. And @thenff do not have the "skills" to scout young talents like Rio.
When will @thenff start honouring our players with tangible and material memorabilia like a simple "cap". I watched how England honoured Rio Ngumoha with England's cap. Ngumoha, Nigerian descent, will never forget that little gesture. With that small gesture, bye-bye to Nigeria.
@EgbuChinwe One more additional information. There are 48 countries in this year's World Cup. Nigeria will not be there, particularly because of poor infrastructure. FYI, Nigeria has just one FIFA/CAF approved stadium in Uyo. Go and find out the state of sports facilities in Morocco !
@EgbuChinwe@IgboHistoFacts When was the last time Nigeria participated in age grade competitions, World Cup, and Olympic games ? If you don't know how and where talents are formed, just keep quiet!
I'm scratching my head to understand how banditry and ransom payments to terrorists in Nigeria became Naira (N) 2.23 trillion = USD ($) 1 billion sector in Nigeria. People in government have a hand in it and are complicit. This data is just for April 2023 to April 2024 o! God o!
