I have just finished reading the judgment of @fcthighcourt earlier this month awarding N100m against @SERAPNigeria for defamation.
To call this judgment a travesty is to do injustice to travesties. The facts do not add up to a case in defamation. To the extent that anything was made out, even the evidence by the claimants supports the claim by @SERAPNigeria that their office was invaded.
It is, of course, possible that the judge did not study law or, perhaps, that the judge chose to administer something other than law in this case. But, if this judgment was issued in the name of law, then all I can say is that the judgment is corrupt and crooked on the face of the record.
We Have Lost the Judiciary
Whenever I converse with Judges i feel more distressed about Nigeria. This judge accosted me about my attacks against them. She revealed to me how the honest judges cannot breathe. They have no career path as long as they are honest. She was skipped for the Court of Appeal because she is not corrupt. Many suffer the same fate
The truth is that heads of judiciary have sold the sector to criminal politicians. Honest judges have no future in Nigerian judiciary except we rise and displace the criminal caste ruling Nigeria. It is a bipartisan caste
@Dataphyte I think it is uncharitable and intentionally misrepresenting my question or intervention to impute that everything about the tax law and discussions today is strictly to collect more money.
.@SERAPNigeria’s recent lawsuit challenged the alleged misuse of the Cybercrimes (Amendment) Act to target individuals (https://t.co/AjXXTLObsu). Is social media censorship a safety measure or a violation of free speech? Vote and discuss. #VoicesForNigeria
How about the NASS send a bill on #compulsorybetterlife for Nigerians instead? Any government at all levels that can’t provide affordable food for the people, public safety, functional education, health, water, and power should pack up and go after six months!
A Senior Nigerian advocate, Olisa Agbakoba, has condemned the House of Representatives' move to make voting compulsory for all Nigerians, arguing that voter apathy is a result of bad governance, not a lack of civic duty.

In 2021, nearly 1 in 5 women aged 20-24 were married before turning 18. To end child marriage by 2030, progress must be 17 x faster than in the last decade.
@UNDP, #EU & UK Government are working to end child marriage in Egypt.

It is now 100 days since Gov Dapo Abiodun, the 'eleyi' of Ogun State, started keeping blogger Hammed 'Labash' Olamilekan in prison for republishing a newspaper article about the gov on his blog. This is despite coercing Lekan into deleting the publication.

The story of banditry is a simple & complex one: Years of neglect of rural areas; inequality; competition for scarce resources due to climatic changes, etc, which then birthed ethnic rivalry, absence of transitional justice & failure of state to push back.
Nigeria's political class has used power to become extremely wealthy, made politics an expensive game to block new entrants and control the masses using identity markers of division - ethnicity, religion and region. This must change.
