I chose to document my journey of starting a bank from the day I found out that ordinary black people can OWN THE BANK, eNL Mutual Bank.

As an extrovert and someone who heals from talking, I understood that I’m taking on an extra ordinary life something like a Bank we know and use but not seen it done in our lifetime, so I chose to do it publicly because it’s not mine alone, it doesn’t belong to me alone, it’s belongs to the people.

When people started recognizing me in public it was uncomfortable, I didn’t expect it or rather I wasn’t prepared for it. I remember crying to my friends and parents that all I wanted was to open a bank but being recognized in public was not what I signed up for 🤣😂😂. A conference call with my parents put perspective into this thing I just so easily call a Bank.

That conference call with my parents changed everything, the dream was dissected and they gave me clarity, my parents were the first ones to say “you speak of opening a Bank as if it’s a small business, do you understand when you say a BANK what we ordinary people see?” It was an aha moment for me.

I’ve been through a lot publicly, some days are harder than others BUT one thing I’ve held on for years is the support, words of encouragement and the prayers from YOU. In days when I’m exhausted, angry and confused sharing those here, there’s never been a time when your words have not healed me, for that I’m thankful.

I get a lot of messages from all over the world, I may not respond to all but know that I see you and I’m thankful for taking you time to write to me.

eNL Mutual Bank is our BANK, I have no doubt that it is an answer to most of our economic prayers, when we do right, a lot of people’s lives are going to change for the better 💜
