OPINION: It is becoming increasingly apparent that Trump no longer has real command over his own administration.

Recent events suggest that the Justice Department is no longer operating independently and is instead responding to pressure tied to Israeli leadership.

The latest release of Epstein-related documents, notably including Trump’s unredacted name, appears less like a routine disclosure and more like a calculated act. The timing strongly implies retaliation after Trump declined to authorize a full-scale military assault on Iran, fulfilling what looks like a long-standing threat meant to coerce compliance.

There are additional signals beyond the document release. The sharp, coordinated downturn in gold, silver, and equity markets appears intentional, not organic. These financial disruptions seem designed to send Trump a blunt message: “you either comply with demands or face economic destabilization that could cripple both the country and your presidency.”

Even more alarming is the posture of Trump’s own Justice Department. Rather than defending the sitting president, it appears to be working against him. Pam Bondi’s role fits neatly into this dynamic, acting as an instrument that advances foreign strategic interests over those of the United States.

The result is mounting pressure on Trump to commit American military resources, and potentially American lives, to a conflict that serves Israel’s regional objectives rather than U.S. security.

Trump himself indirectly acknowledged this power struggle in a July 16, 2025 Truth Social post, where he suggested that the Epstein materials were manufactured in the same way as the Steele dossier, and lamented that supposed allies were aiding forces working against him.

The conclusion is difficult to avoid.

Trump is no longer steering the ship. Israeli leadership, through influence over intelligence channels, legal institutions, and financial levers, appears to be dictating outcomes. Federal agencies are being used as tools of leverage, threatening economic turmoil, social unrest, and geopolitical chaos unless Trump submits to their demands.

What has unfolded over the last couple days looks like a warning shot. It was a demonstration of control over information and markets, intended to make the consequences unmistakably clear. Escalate into full war with Iran, or face personal and national ruin.
The logic is transactional.

If Trump authorizes a major attack on Iran, financial markets will rebound, restoring confidence and reinforcing the image of economic strength that underpins his political survival. If he refuses, further document releases will follow, regardless of their authenticity, clearing the path for a successor more willing to comply.

This paints a very grim picture.

The United States appears less like a sovereign nation and more like a managed territory, where elected officials hold office but not power, and real decisions are made elsewhere.
