@JulesDaulby@OnExclusions@Sue_Cowley@SENDISaundersRE @eylanezekiel @NExclusions @hiddendepths @exclusionlawyer Totally not the way forward. My son is still traumatised nearly 2years later from his 4 fixed term exclusions totally 18/28 days! He was just 7. He still doesn’t want to go near another school and has huge anxiety
Just been to launch to see a demo of this hub. It's an impressive resource @JulesDaulby@WholeSchoolSEND@NNPCF@OnExclusions please share. Template letters and clear step by step guides will be really useful. Just a shame this is needed.
@tombennett71@OnExclusions I don't think PRUs are useless indeed I've known a family that wanted the PRU as their named provision. I just don't think it should reach school exclusion before the SEND needs are properly explored.
@tombennett71 "the well being of children who find exclusion takes them into the institutions they need" Really?
If a child is in a setting that truly can not meet their needs, then surely there is a better way than exclusion to move them to one that can. @OnExclusions
@JulesDaulby@NExclusions@OnExclusions Not forgetting impact on families, especially where work becomes impossible. Getting "those" phone calls from school and having to deal with the fall-out is a "whole family" thing.
@mjello06 @Claire_R123 @OnExclusions@JulesDaulby Supposedly independent RP accidentally recorded during break: “I need to know how to close this down”, “We either wind him up to the such point that he becomes rude and storms out?”, “How do we shut it down? how do we shut it down?”. All on LA payroll and thick as thieves with HT
Wise words from my youngest today: "when Parliament gets suspended it's a breach of democracy with everyone up in arms but when a SEN child gets excluded nobody really cares" @JulesDaulby@OnExclusions
