With the passage of this amendment and the incredible leadership of President Trump, I am confident that War Criminal Putin’s bases in Syria will soon be history.
Make Syria Great Again.
We are now into the fifth year of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s unlawful war of aggression against Ukraine – with Russian forces continuing to launch a deadly drone and missile air campaign against Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
Meanwhile, the Trump Administration has refused to provide additional security assistance to the Ukrainian people and even slashed tens of millions in funding that would have supported the investigation of Russian war crimes targeting Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure.
In defense of a free and sovereign Ukraine, and in the interest of U.S. national security, I voted YES on the Ukraine Support Act. This bipartisan legislation authorizes additional security assistance for Ukraine and will impose harsher sanctions on Russia if it continues the war, refuses to engage in good faith peace negotiations, or violates the terms of an existing peace agreement.
🚨Always proud to stand with our dear friends in #Ukraine who are fighting to protect themselves from Putin’s pathetic, illegal invasion.
Putin’s regime must be destroyed & relegated to the ash heap of history!
By supporting Ukraine, we deter aggression everywhere, combat authoritarianism and reaffirm that the United States does not abandon those who fight for freedom.
While some have been unwilling to stand up to Vladimir Putin, the Congress must.
Tonight, House Democrats did.
I just voted for a bipartisan discharge petition to support Ukraine's defense and impose tougher sanctions on Vladimir Putin's war machine.
More than four years after Putin launched his illegal invasion, Ukraine continues to defy the odds. The Ukrainian people have fought with extraordinary courage, resilience, and determination.
This vote is a statement of confidence in Ukraine's future. I will continue standing with the Ukrainian people as they fight for their freedom, sovereignty, and democracy.
@IuliiaMendel Ukraine is fighting a defensive war. What exactly do you propose? Surrender and hope not too many Ukrainians are raped and murdered in the process and that some are spared when Russia uses Ukrainians as cannon fodder in Putin’s next war?
Unimaginable agony & anxiety—Putin’s intensified bloodthirsty bombardment of Ukraine reflect desperation. He’s losing on the battlefield, his economy is declining, his casualties are mounting. His go-to tactic is terror. His calling card is death & destruction. 1/
