If we can further interpret "a piece of ice" as "a small / diminutive fragment coming from a larger ice body" then we can infer that the etymology of "icicle" is "ice, ice baby"
“icicle” is a compound word: an ice + icle. But what is an “icle”?
It comes from Old English ġiċel, which literally means “piece of ice” (this is where Icelandic gets “jaki”) but also icicle per se.
So, funnily enough, the ancestor of icicle (īs+ġiċel) meant “icy icicle”
This sounds made up, but it is actually called "sun glitter."
The glittering pattern is caused by incoming sunlight striking the surface of the water at a less than 90-degree angle.
Waves on the water's surface can also create this angle--and thus produce a glittering effect.

This is delightful for two reasons:
1. Hearing my home accent in anime and games makes me smile. I don't believe it's native for this VA, but it's a warm attempt (as with Mid in FFXVI).
2. I HAVE to imagine this is the first ever documented use of the word "lughole" in anime...
In the V&A today I got asked "Do you work here?"
I briefly wondered if I could help (despite not working there) but swiftly realised that, despite having been to the V&A several times, I have NO IDEA how to get around because every time I am INESCAPABLY drawn to the Cast Courts.
"As we prepare to go out of radio communication, we're still able to feel your love from Earth," Glover said.
"And to all of you down there on Earth, and around Earth, we love you from the moon."

This is lovely!
I had built a similar thing for the Pokémon themselves - turned a room in the museum into a vibrant jurassic jungle, like a diorama come to life. They all HATED it because it was too humid. So I built them a dirt room instead and gave the old one to Volcarona :')
The puppet of Mother Clanger has returned to Canterbury to be put on display after being stolen from an exhibition in London more than 50 years ago.

Finally rolled credits on Octopath Traveler 0. Beautiful game. Surprisingly effective port of the mobile game to console; enjoyed it a ton despite the weird artefacts resulting from that. Gorgeous to look at and still one of my favourite soundtracks. I love this series so much 💖
@terrbear875 I think this was actually for World Book Day (I brought the book of Mewtwo Strikes Back to school with me to justify it) hahaha. The Pikachu plushie's name was Professor Sparky :)
Oh how little I knew back then! Through my Pokémon journey I would see so much of the world, meet the love of my life and a treasure trove of friends, find a career that challenges and fulfills me, and find the confidence to face every new adventure. Train on!!
