@Laiize1337@dmc_dmcc It's not inevitable. This technology poses serious risk to our continued existence. If we acknowledge the risks, the leaders could sign a treaty prohibiting further development of AI. We could solve this issue easily if only the world paid attention.
@Aging_Scientist If AI ends the world, we won't get a cure for cancer or any of the good things. We'll just be extinct.
If we pause and *research* it, before building it, however, we might have a shot at a positive singularity.
@robbensinger@thomasp31988019 I wonder, why is the world reacting so recklessly to AI vs other technologies? Are there some psychological/social reasons? Seems worth looking into, to mitigate
@JeffBohren@LuizaJarovsky It would be great if people misusing AI would be held accountable, you're right. Building on that, it'd be great if we had laws that protected us from dangerous AI, especially superintelligent one. Do you agree?
@matthewktromp In my experience, some people just deny the risk because it's so unpleasant to think about. We need to make the narrative about AI more aligned with what our culture considers fun. Short stories, humor, brainteasers... things that make it easy to share with your friends at dinner
@BernieSanders Thank you! Pause AI. It is an existential danger to all of us. CEOs can't control the AIs they build, how are they going to control superintelligence? We need an international treaty. Thank you again for your efforts!
@RepYassAnsari Those are wise words. You don't have to understand the inner workings of AI (nobody does, they're black boxes) to know we don't need a rival superintelligent species. The danger is the end of all humanity. We must fight. Thank you for your efforts regarding this.
@gr7bj@So8res I wish your children, family and all of us a happy future. For that, humanity needs to wake up and take action. You can call your representatives and tell them about your concerns.

@mbateman@robbensinger I agree with biocide and solar system takeover being extremely pessimistic views. Speaking with discernment, would you say building Dyson spheres is omnipotence or just extreme technological advancement? In any case, these things are troubling, it's us vs AI
@SecondNameAxel Thank you for raising awareness. I share the concern about AI capabilities. Let me ask you this: what, in your mind, is the most plausible way AI could break out of the box and cause extinction? Thank you again for being a reasonable voice among chaos!
@mannygoestomars Strong claims require strong evidence. And the rest of the post β well said. What is your idea on how to communicate the risks of AI to people?
@nircj@lisamariehaden Thank you for your work on the video. I agree that what AI does is definitely more concerning than what it says. If you're able to predict the future, which is a rare skill, you can see that AIS won't stop at saying things. Do you agree with that, and that we need to control it?
