URGENT: ETHIOPIAN GOVERNMENT DRONE STRIKE HITS ABI KIDIST ARSEMA MONASTERY

An Ethiopian government drone strike hit Abi Kidist Arsema Monastery in the South Wollo Diocese of the Amhara Region while worshippers were gathered for daily Mass.

The attack killed 7 people and severely injured 10 others. The video documents the aftermath, including the bodies of those killed and the wounded survivors.

These were worshippers gathered in prayer.

A monastery is not a battlefield. Religious institutions and civilians must never be targeted.

This reported attack demands an immediate, independent investigation. Those responsible must be held accountable—regardless of their rank, political position, or affiliation.

The @UN, @UNHumanRights, @UNESCO, @Amnesty, @hrw, and the @AfricanUnion must not remain silent.

Seven worshippers are dead. Ten others are severely injured. The world must not look away.
