YES! It happened!
First internet money with Patch! 💵
Next to my @RevenueCat notification, other things happen too.. like the @trust_mrr graphs updating and my entry onto the @shipordie_ leaderboard. I even unlocked a new "$1 earned"-badge there.
It’s a huge motivator to check all these websites and services!
A lot of people from the Netherlands visit my website, https://t.co/mTT2gUzSf8. That’s why I decided to translate my app into Dutch. We’ll see how it goes.
I'm sorry to hear that bro :/ ... Maybe you should at least also consider to give any feature for free... With my last update, I also stopped offering any features for free. If they cancel, then they cancel... and they simply shouldn't use my product at all anymore. It can help you maybe as well to find your peace with the cancellations.
The Paywall is a hard gate directly after the onboarding now.
12 hours after this version was released on the App Store: a new 3 month-subscriber!!! 🥳 (currently as trial user).
btw: What do you think of my price list? Am I steering people toward a specific package with these prices, or does one of them not make sense? Thanks for the feedback.
@ScatterLabz Probably! Thanks for the feedback! Sometimes less is more. The decision should be easy and not difficult. I ll rethink about the 3 month tier. Thanks!
My prompt this morning: I want to rethink the app's monetization strategy. Users will no longer be able to use the app for free. They can start a trial period, but in the non-Pro version, certain tabs—such as the "Insights" tab—will be locked. Users will only be able to access the settings if their subscription has expired or similar. It is important that, just like in the "Insights" tab, users can see which features and views they would gain access to by unlocking the Pro version. Also, the onboarding process cannot be fully completed unless the user at least starts the trial period. 🫡
Remove your free plan.
Free users are leeches. They increase support, server costs, and make you build features your paying customers don’t want.
Less than 3% of free users ever convert.
VC startups can afford free plans because they’re optimizing for growth, not profit.
If you’re an indie founder, never give away your product for free.
After submitting AppPulse, I knew App Store screenshot framing needed to become simpler

@MartinTale@RevenueCat@trust_mrr@shipordie_ Thank you very much! 😃
There is another user who is currently in the trial phase. Hopefully, she will also switch to a Pro account. 🤞
Less than 24 hours after celebrating my first 100 followers, another 100 people have joined to follow my journey as an indie developer. I never expected that!
A huge thank you once again. I genuinely enjoy connecting with all of you and sharing this experience.
That said, I don't want this to turn into a long "thank-you" speech.
My goal is also to share useful insights from my path as an indie developer.. the wins, the mistakes, the lessons learned and hopefully provide content that's valuable to you along the way.
As for what's next: my next app won't be another niche product for women. Instead, I want to work on a practical tool for all macOS users, which I plan to launch as my next project during @shipordie_ once the #WWDC stress and FOMO have settled down.
Excited to keep building in public and sharing the journey with you all. 🫶
