OpenHands

OpenHands is the leading open source agent for software development, usable through a CLI, GUI, SDK, or IDE

[OpenHands @OpenHandsDev]

Running one coding agent is a developer workflow.
Running agents across an organization is an infrastructure challenge.

New in OpenHands Enterprise:
• Org-level secrets
• Usage + budget visibility
• OAuth for MCP servers
• Org-wide automation management
• Git Sync for automations

More visibility and control as agents move from individual sessions to always-on systems. Read the blog for more details on the latest in OpenHands Enterprise: https://t.co/070CrL6Dtg

I'll be doing a live stream on "how to build an open source software factory with open models" at Hacktoberfest 2026 in 15 minutes.

Tune in and give me best wishes that my hot-off-the-press demo doesn't fall over :)

Excited to support for @Recursive_SI Flint 🚀

40B parameters, just 2.5B active per token, built for fast local coding inference.

We’ve tested it with OpenHands. Now developers have another open model for real engineering workflows.

We’re proud to be a launch partner for @NVIDIA Nemotron 3.5 Super VL, an open multimodal model for agents that see, reason, and act efficiently in specialized workflows, with model control anywhere.

The SDLC isn’t text-only. Bugs have screenshots. Incidents have dashboards. Requirements live in docs and diagrams.

As agents take on more of the SDLC, they need to understand that context too.

The future of agent infrastructure is multimodal + multi-model: the right model for the right work, all within the same agent system.

Congrats to the @NVIDIAAI team! 🙌

OpenHands now integrates with @DigitalOcean Managed Agents! 🌊

Run AI coding agents in isolated cloud environments, pause and resume sessions, and manage everything from Agent Canvas.

Use DigitalOcean for agent execution, model inference, or both.

More flexibility in where agents run and which models power them.

Are you heading to @aiDotEngineer NYC next week?
Say hi and lets chat 👐

We have folks from @OpenHandsDev in the city including @gneubig @rohit_malh5 and Clarke Shipley!

We are having a small leaders dinner Tuesday, be ready for a deep but fun discussion on agentic software development.

A few spots left, so DM me soon if interested!

[OpenHands @OpenHandsDev]

Chat works well when you’re working with one agent.

As agent usage grows, we need interfaces built around managing the work, not managing individual conversations.

See how OpenHands uses a custom Kanban board to orchestrate agent work: https://t.co/t9uT6LvbWP

[OpenHands @OpenHandsDev]

What’s a task you ask an AI agent to do over and over again?

The goal isn’t better prompting. It’s removing the prompt from work that shouldn’t need one.

Check out the demo to see how OpenHands turns a repeated prompt into an always-on workflow 👇

[OpenHands @OpenHandsDev]

Agentic development isn’t one task for one agent.

It’s a system: triage the issue, write the code, run it safely, review the PR, and keep the work moving when feedback comes in.

That’s where we focused in September across eight Agent Canvas releases:
⚙️ More powerful automations that carry context from issue → development → PR review
🎛️ Agent Profiles with scoped tools and credentials, so each agent can be configured for the job it needs to do
🐳 Isolated Docker runtimes that give each conversation its own execution environment

We also made Apps easier to build and share, alongside dozens of improvements across the Agent Canvas workspace.

90K GitHub stars ⭐

More than a number, it’s a reflection of the community building OpenHands alongside us.

Every contribution, PR, issue, experiment, and piece of feedback makes the project better.

Thank you to everyone building with us in the open!

Check out this new OpenHands research on skill refinement!

[Anirudh Khatry @AnirudhKhatry]

Deployed agents pile up execution traces. The question is whether we can automatically refine skills based on existing rollouts.

Introducing SkillRefiner: Offline skill refinement from the traces you already have! 🧵

Really cool to see what the https://t.co/jXZrv5BMIn team is building on top of OpenHands! 👏

Users describe the business app they need, and agents assemble it from IT-approved components, while respecting existing permissions and controls.

OpenHands powers the agent layer underneath.

A great example of agents becoming infrastructure inside the products and workflows people already use.

[Ronny Schüritz @RonnyMS]

Have you ever seen a business application generated in under a second? We integrated https://t.co/7LEzHWJDUT with JEV (@typesafeai ). App with, Salesforce data connections
authentication and authorization, server-side business logic and UI company’s design system.

[OpenHands @OpenHandsDev]

OpenHands is officially SOC 2 Type II compliant! 🎉

As agents get access to more code, tools, and engineering systems, security and control have to be built into the infrastructure around them.

This milestone independently validates the controls we’ve put in place to help enterprises run agents securely at scale.

Big thanks to our team, @TrustVanta, and Advantage Partners!

[OpenHands @OpenHandsDev]

The future of agentic software development probably isn’t one agent doing everything.

It’s specialized agents working across the SDLC, alongside the coding tools developers already use.

@Intellyx digs into how OpenHands is approaching that, and why openness + cost matter as agent usage scales.

We're proud to be sponsoring SheTO Summit next Friday, October 2!

Stop by our booth to meet the team and learn about OpenHands, the open-source platform for building and running software engineering agents. Whether you're curious about AI agents, want to see a live demo, or are looking to contribute to open source, we'd love to chat.

See you there!

The “dark factory” isn’t really about smarter models or replacing engineers. It’s about redesigning the software process so fewer steps require human judgment, then earning autonomy workflow by workflow.

[OpenHands @OpenHandsDev]

AI is becoming a system you build, not just a model you call.

Models, inference, agents, evals, infrastructure. Builders should be able to choose each layer and change it as better options emerge.

That shared philosophy is why OpenHands is excited to be a partner for the @NebiusAI Builder Program.

[Nebius @nebiusai]

The Nebius AI Builder Program is now available.
AI isn’t just a model you call anymore. It’s a system you build. And builders, not a few closed labs, will decide what it becomes.

The open ecosystem has all the pieces. We want to make it easier to put them together and start building.

The program is free, with $400+ in credits and discounts, working code and cookbooks, office hours with engineers, and a community to build with.

We’re joined by @NVIDIAAI, @LangChain, @huggingface, @cognition, @OpenHandsDev, @tavilyai, @TolokaAI, @composio, @PrimeIntellect, @MiniMax_AI, @Alibaba_Qwen, and more joining soon.
