Dean Kennedy - The Resident Who Sent Bailiffs into L&Q's Head Office
https://t.co/WsMZkplPem
It started off with a complaint about serious antisocial behaviour (ASB) by a neighbour, and ended up with the resident taking the extraordinary step of sending court bailiffs to one of the largest housing associations in England (L&Q), to recover the compensation awarded to him by a county court.
Stamford Hill Estate leaseholders getting the national coverage they deserve on @BBC this morning
Also a reminder that any article I write could get national coverage, so do get in touch if you've got a story @hackneycitizen

A 68-yo woman has been forced to bathe out of a bucket & live on bottled water since maggots & slime began pouring out of her tap & other people’s faeces appeared her toilet for the last 1 1 years in a property ran by Peabody. https://t.co/mjwNrilamk

@14_LoveLaugh @JohnLocker_UK@optivohomes Completely agree. A process only meaningful in that we can then approach the ombudsman when it inevitably fails.
@14_LoveLaugh @JohnLocker_UK@optivohomes Worth approaching the ombudsman if you have exhausted the complaints process? Southern have no interest in providing even a half decent service, they are unfit for purpose.
We encourage people to send letters referring to the article and talking about your own experiences. We must show that landlords ignoring complaints is widespread, not just "something went wrong in this case" as Clarion claims!

Shame on you @Alliance_Homes for charging residents £100 to see a breakdown of their service charge. You should be providing this information free of charge. Stop taking advantage of people and start being transparent.

@RedSisterr Which was literally hilarious and stripped her of any credibility. Am born to wc immigrant parents, briefly earned decent money tho that’s not been the case in many years, am def wc. (Unlike Jack).
@RedSisterr First, during lockdown when there was a PA &/or whole support team stood down; I thought the discrepancy must be my failure to understand. Then lots of little things seemed pointless lies yet didn’t add up. Final straw was card carrying’Marxist Leninist’ father saluting queen 1/2
Thank you @BBCLondonNews for shining a light on inaccurate and extortionate service charges levied by housing associations.
And thank you @HAWRNet and @OHGResidents for your relentless work in bringing this issue to light.

@LostInSW19@LKPleasehold@optivohomes@natfednews@LQHomesMatter Another hurdle imposed on residents trying to get to the bottom of their service charges.
Please make any future requests for accounts via our free tool (allows for section 21 and 22 requests). Then we can track which associations are guilty of service charge abuse.
Hi @optivohomes - fascinated to read CEO’s statement in your annual review stating 88% of residents are satisfied with quality of your services. Please explain how this is evidenced? Am long standing resident who was not asked to rate your services & would have loved to do so.
Respect to Michael Savell who got £318,000 refund from @optivohomes '"I would urge everyone to study their service charge statements and launch challenges wherever possible' @natfednews https://t.co/y1iAR8a7hw
