I had a 15-minute meeting with Steve Ballmer.

Well … not exactly.

I saw the former CEO of @microsoft, owner of the @laclippers and the 14th wealthiest person in the world, working out next to me at the gym.

Did we have a meeting scheduled? Not technically

Did I have a warm introduction? I did not.

I simply waited until he finished, walked over, introduced myself, and took my shot.

Worst case scenario? He tells me he’s busy and to go fly a kite.

Instead, he gave me 15 minutes.

We talked about my immigration to America, the business I’ve built with @OpulenceIG and the business I’m still trying to build. We talked about sports, entrepreneurship, and what it takes to keep growing.

As the conversation started flowing, I figured I had nothing to lose. So I shot another shot - the shot I wanted to shoot the whole time but I had to feel it out.

I shared my vision of working with the Clippers organization, helping insure the player contracts they commit hundreds of millions of dollars to through my insurance solutions.

Did I expect him to say “yes” right there? Of course not.

But that’s wasn’t the point.

The seed has been planted. 🪴

One thing I’ve learned in business is this:

Doors won’t open themselves. Sometimes you have to knock but most of the times … you have to break the door down.

You’ll hear “no” far less often than you think.

The opportunities that change your life usually start with one conversation.
