@BostonFootAnkle Advantages are obvious with this technique! Are there disadvantages as opposed to the open technique? Does the lack of neurectomy affect the results?
@InvictaOrtho Thank you Dr Yelena.. We rarely think of the patient as a whole;usually we treat fractures as isolated. What's your opinion on the use of cannulated screws? Washers? Partially threaded/unicortical screws in good quality bone?
@InvictaOrtho So many constructs can be used to fix the same injury. Do you use the same fixation method everytime or do you have fixed goals that you try to achieve whatever construct you're using? (e.g. plating the cuneiform instead of using the intercuneiform screw)
Thank you
@BostonFootAnkle@Arthrex 1) Can you detail the reduction of the fibula?
2)Does the syndesmotic fixation pass through a slot in the nail?
3)Do you personally think this will be the standard treatment for ankle fractures in the future?(nailing vs plating/tight rope vs Screw/ arthroscopic repair of deltoid)
@ChipRoutt Beautifully explained. I always understand your cases because they are explained in a simple intelligent manner. However, I seem to have trouble coming to the same answers as you when analysing the case alone as the pelvis seem to be more complicated than long bones. Any tips?
