🛑 Bat Wing Appearance in Joubert Syndrome
🔷️ Refers to the appearance of the 4th ventricle on neuroimaging
🔷️ Caused by hypoplasia or agenesis of the cerebellar vermis
🔷️ The roof of the 4th ventricle becomes widened and distorted
🔷️ Gives a characteristic "bat wing" configuration on axial imaging
🔷️ Often seen along with the classic Molar Tooth Sign
🔷️ Supports the diagnosis of Joubert syndrome
🔷️ Associated clinical features include hypotonia, ataxia, abnormal breathing, and developmental delay
