Republic vs Democracy (as I understand them)

Republics and Democracies both provide a political system in which citizens are represented by elected officials who are sworn to protect their interests.

In a pure Democracy, laws are made directly by the voting majority of the elected representatives, regardless of how they may affect the people they represent.

In a Republic, laws are made by the voting majority of the elected representatives, much like in a Democracy, however, the laws must comply with a constitution which protects the rights of everyone, including the minority.

In the United States, we have the Constitution and the Bill of Rights which protects our rights as citizens. In a Republic, they can not be infringed upon.

These government types are interchanged a lot in the press and even in the classroom. However you refer to our government style, it is still a Republic.

I have been severely de-boosted/shadowbaned/throttled for over a month. Many of the big content providers that I follow are taking a break from X until they fix whatever they have done to silence the voices of Conservatives/MAGA. Unfortunately, this will probably not be fixed until after the election.

I had planned on riding it out, but when my "For You" content is 90% how amazing Joe Biden is and nothing but bile and venom for my presidential candidate of choice, I just can't do it.

I stopped watching/reading the mainstream media because I discovered that it was 100% propaganda designed to have people buy into whatever narrative they wanted to sell. On X I found many people who woke up to the realizations I had and I followed them. We exchanged information and vented to each other ... a community square.

A month ago that all changed. I no longer saw the people I followed in my feeds. They were replaced by vile and hateful people who follow the mainstream media narratives like sheep to the slaughter. My impressions dropped by 99%. I no longer got to see what the people I follow had to say and vice-versa. It was replaced with a narrative that I am an uneducated idiot for believing what I do. Yikes, the propaganda agenda had found its way to my town square.

It would be foolish for me to continue to log in for brainwashing, so I choose not to participate. I'll continue to log in every few days until I start seeing the people I follow back in my feeds and the propaganda disappear from my town square. Until then I will be a lot less active on X.

My prediction of impressions for this post is less than 300 of my 30k followers (1%) @elonmusk @lindayaX @Support
