Public land in the East End | Public land for public housing | We oppose the Bishopsgate Goodsyard planning application & propose a community-led alternative.
Too late: @mayoroflondon or rather his deputy #julespipe have approved the scheme. They have no interest in children or anyone affected by development. Their cabal is developers, star architects and financiers. The mayor’s planning decisions are a disgrace to London.
@DanielHewittITV Poor answers. There are other reasons why little’s been built, it’s not the planning system. Strong developer lobby in play. They landbank permissions to keep prices high: there are existing permissions for 100s of 1000s of homes. Good point re low subsidy for affordable homes.
"The same professional vocabulary — less-than-substantial harm, proportionate, enhancement opportunities — travels with him, institutional experience translated into commercial method." 🙄
Day 5 at the #BrickLane Inquiry turned the lens on heritage itself — from bricks and light to the institutions that decide what’s worth saving. Featuring former Historic England officer Michael Dunn.

“Solving the housing crisis relies not just on how many new homes we build, but on their affordability. Too often developers prioritise profitable luxury units over housing that meets the needs of people already living here.” Go Flo! @FloEshalomi https://t.co/S5G5y60LQF
We are fighting against a 10acre office and commercial “campus” a term used by Truman’s well paid architects- 5 of them who took briefs to destroy the heritage and culture of Brick Lane!
One of the architect’s brief was to stick a huge Data Centre. A resident gave witness that her window is metres from this noisy and high energy building! Pls join us at Brady Centre or share our crowd justice https://t.co/p7uh5vW49i
Please join us tomorrow, Tues Oct 21 at the Brady Arts Centre, 192 Hanbury Street, London E1 5HU. Our participation as a Rule 6 Party means residents and local community will be able to speak and have their voices heard #SaveBrickLane
Our public enquiry is starting in 2 weeks’ time. Residents and local communities can speak as 3rd party witnesses, we are £6000 short of our crowd justice funding, pls help to share and donate https://t.co/p7uh5vW49i
We need to raise legal fund to give community a voice #SaveBrickLane. Pls donate here, every pound goes direct to our legal team https://t.co/p7uh5vW49i
“Silence in the face of cultural erasure is complicity.”
The fight for #BrickLane is not over.
A Public Inquiry begins soon—and the Mayor of London has yet to speak. Who profits from destruction of place? Who stands to lose everything?
