Watch PAR President and CEO Mark Davis discuss with @pcntv how @GovernorShapiro's budget proposal would impact Pennsylvanians with intellectual disabilities and autism: https://t.co/hQKSw5Cvlj
When I visited BARC in Bucks County, the people I met there — family members, support staff, and folks with an intellectual disability or autism – could not have been clearer: BARC and the support services they provide are invaluable to them — and they need more support.
My budget makes a nearly half a billion dollar investment to deliver more resources for centers just like BARC that make a life-changing difference for our neighbors.
I’m here at @Achieva in Pittsburgh to highlight how my $483M investment increases wages for caregivers and improves access to home and community-based services across Pennsylvania.
Let’s work together to support our intellectual disability community. https://t.co/8LNi3hlbdw

Thank you @GovernorShapiro and @ValArkooshPA for hearing individuals' and families' stories yesterday. Your proposal of $483 million to increase DSP wages will be vital to ensuring that ID/A services are there for the people and families who depend on them.
A budget is more than a set of numbers on a spreadsheet — it's a statement of your priorities and principles.
My budget makes a historic $483 million investment to increase wages for our direct support professionals so we can help more of our neighbors with intellectual disabilities and autism.
PAR was honored to watch Nick Smith, a DSP from @spin_inc, testify today before the US Senate Special Committee on Aging about the Long Term Care Workforce. Thank you Nick for all the work you do supporting people with ID/A and for advocating so well! https://t.co/rhUUtMf6Yu

We are hopeful that our collective efforts will result in positive news for the Pennsylvania ID/A system. Thank you to everyone who advocated!
DSPs are an essential piece of something important - the ID/A service system. But DSP wages don't reflect the significance of their responsibilities & their profound impact on those they support. Send a letter to @GovernorShapiro to advocate for DSP wages-
