If you feel worried about Texas polling showing weak white margins, you should turn to polling of Kansas and Nebraska to feel better.

Kansas hasn’t elected a Dem to the senate since 1934. Now they are trying to defeat an incumbent R who won by double digits last time and isn’t marked as one of the problem Rs. The polling shows a tight race because the white margins are flimsy.

92 years of elections suggests they will turn right around and send a (R) to the senate. Not polling. Real history and results.

The same polling issue (not necessarily an incompetence issue, but a response issue) is in Nebraska and most certainly in Texas.

If Texas goes from 65% GOP share of white vote to 45-50%, then there’s not much sense worrying about elections. Dems can only win these races if republicans don’t vote and actually manifest into reality what the polls think is being measured.

These texts are devastating to any prosecution for a sexual assault. They obliterate every lack of consent argument. No forcible compulsion. No mental incapacity. No physical helplessness. And no clear expression of a lack of consent. Every theory of lack of consent is undermined by these texts. Any objective prosecutor looking at these texts understands that these texts and the other prior statements made by the alleged victim, combined with the high burden of proof, makes a prosecution here untenable. It shouldn't happen. Even the NY AG must see what is happening here. Let the parties battle this out in civil court.

But remember that this is inadmissible hearsay. And if anything ever goes to a jury, the jury will likely be less woke than the people who work at Cornell who came to this conclusion.
