@plankers He can call it whatever to forward his extreme right wing agenda. It is an illegal occupation. The numbers killed, especially children and civilians as a whole, are magnitudes worse for the Palestinians, who get no such sympathy. One Man's Terrorist Another Man's Freedom Fighter.
@FootballRamble talk of pulling people from the crowd… how about a standby goalie in the NHL? All Prem teams should have a standby player - who’d you pick? https://t.co/i7kBQjUS2m
I keep being asked what I make of the UFO thing in Congress yesterday, so here it is: I watched a few clips and saw some people who seemed to believe stuff saying extraordinary things without presenting extraordinary evidence. Therefore I have nothing more to say, other than: It would be great if true - it would take a bit of the pressure off our civilisation if we weren’t the only means within the Milky Way by which the Universe understands itself. Sadly, as of today, I still feel that pressure, so can we perhaps focus on not messing our world up rather than hoping that, to paraphrase Sagan, someone will float down to save us from ourselves.
@mremrich1 In CA this already happens. Schools can partner with community colleges and CA State Colleges. Faculty either teach in the high school, or students can opt to go to campus. They are also free.
AP is just another barrier to minority students.
@offgridteacher Don’t run the conference, let your students. They know their learning better than you. They can be honest and reflect on areas of growth and improvement. Try to be there as support for the student, not as the keeper of knowledge about said student.
In lieu of reflecting on how their zeros make more compliant students, perhaps they should reflect on their pedagogical practices and become creatively noncompliant themselves.
I was torn whether to retweet this; obviously I have. I think that the sentiment is shared by many (judging by the replies), yet it is SO counter to how we should care for our students…
I made a simple change to my teaching this year that improved just about every aspect of my classroom culture:
I stopped accepting late work
Anything not turned in on time gets a 0 and tossed in the trash
This is a rather sweeping statement. I would suggest that those who feel this way should look at the tasks the students are doing together: are they meaningful, student centered and grounded in learning?
@GotMathHelp Yes. This is true for most AP classes. A lot of colleges will want SS to take the classes with them- Ss need to research each college- Here in CA Ss would be much better off taking community college Gen Ed classes; they’re free and much more likely to transfer.
Not sure if this is the first fallout from @pylusd's ban on critical race theory, but it's the biggest:
@csuf says it won't send any more student teachers to the district. More 👇

@plankers Wish I could do that with my eucalyptus, The trouble is (a) it will literally explode, causing (b) a massive wild fire which will most likely end with me going to prison.
