Penn State picked up a verbal commitment from one of the country's best long snapper prospects this morning. Powell picked the Nittany Lions over Arkansas. He was one of a throng of recruits Matt Campbell and his staff hosted over the weekend.

The little one's owner wasn't able to care for her anymore, so I was asked to be her caretaker. It's probably a hospice situation. She's old, blind and arthritic, but we're going to do our best to give her a good quality of life foe as long as she has left.

Second commit of the day for Matt Campbell's program. A former Virginia pledge, Currie is a 6-7, 230-pound TE who had been planning on visiting Ohio State and Texas A@M before announcing for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State picks up a verbal commitment from a 6-2, 315-pound defensive tackle out of Utah. Paiva, who is young for his class and also had a visit scheduled for Arizona, should be a big roadblock in the middle of the Lion DL in the future.

Lions could get another commit shortly.
