@mikeschmitz I already do block planning in my calendar, mostly following @CharlieGilkey's methods. But I really like this tool except for one thing - I wake up & get started earlier than this calendar allows. Or am I missing a customization option? Fine work though!

@kinginmotion @obsdmd Yeah that argument doesn't land at all. I don't expect every element of Obsidian's rendering of my notes to transfer. I just want the data to fully transfer. At this point, I can take all 7k notes in my database and drop them anywhere and the information is fully preserved. 🤷‍♂️

Mightily confused by everyone's freakout over the new iOS. First of all, calm down, it's not that deep. Second - the differences are honestly minor unless you choose to focus on them.

Doubtless different use cases / situations may be more impacted.

One of my favorite use cases for Obsidian Bases is custom sidebar views. Here's one I made for "Related notes".

It finds notes that have overlapping links and tags with the active note. The notes are sorted by a count of overlaps.

You can tailor this by counting and sorting other kinds of overlaps, like note titles, embeds, etc — possibly even creating a formula that adds weighting to the overlaps.

As a person who receives a huge volume of email across 7 email addresses it's critical to me there is a clean separation between email & PKM sys. Maybe another question of "one tool to rule them all" versus careful curation?

Excellent day. Found some #chineseherb seeds that I'd been storing, but forgot. Some may be viable, some not, but it felt like finding treasure.

I'm especially excited by the Gualou 瓜蔞 (Trichosanthes kirilowii). Specially packaged - hoping they're viable!

Minazuki (水無月) is the traditional Japanese name for the 6th lunar month, roughly corresponding to June-July. Despite containing the character for “water” (水), it means “month without water” - referring to the dry season when rice fields are drained before harvest.

@NickMilo used the analogy of the Master Gardener, 庭師. This is apt for me now as I lean into Chinese herb cultivation as part of my work. Just as I've learned to gradually, continually, tend to my land - so must I approach my notes, my knowledge.

One thing that really makes me mistrust a person is a clean, marketable bio. If you can say what you do in a few neat sentences - I dunno - maybe you should get a bit more complicated.

Why? Living in the small town where the band lives & being acquainted with the members helps. But also b/c their music does what I hope mine will - speak to enduring emotional truths in a potent, deep way.
