N. Abhijit Mandal (62) of West Bengal, was working at a construction site in in Gajalakshmi Nagar, Nolambur, TN.

Around 10 pm, the four people V. Vasigaran (18), R. Ajay (18), S. Gokul Raj (18), and R. Sabari allegedly approached Abhijit while he was standing outside the site and asked him for cigarettes.

When he refused, an argument broke out and they allegedly assaulted him mercilessly like a pack of rabid dogs.

Some people tried to save him but the rowdy drunken gang killed him.
