The ambulance was donated by Italy, one of hundreds of humanitarian vehicles sent to Ukrainian cities still carrying their original markings. 2 medics were injured in the strike.

Striking a marked ambulance is a war crime. Full stop.

Interesting tidbit from Syrian actor (half Alawite) that a 2011 chant supposedly shouted by anti-Assad protestors in the costal region, “Alawites to the grave, and Christians to Beirut”, was in fact orchestrated by the Assad mukhabarat.

He says he knows this firsthand.

82 years ago, on May 18, 1944, Russian special forces deported Crimean Tatars from their homes by force, without warning. Families were given just minutes to pack. At least 200,000 people (most of them women, children and the elderly) were taken by cattle trains to Central Asia and Siberia. Their homes in Crimea were taken by Russians arriving in the peninsula.

During transit and in the first incredibly hard years, about half of the deported people died from starvation, exhaustion and diseases. Their culture was systematically being erased, as well.

After the collapse of the USSR, Crimean Tatars were allowed to return to Crimea. But after Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014, they are facing systemic prosecution and suppression of their identity. A lot of them fled their homes again. Many are imprisoned for years now.

This is a horrible genocide and crime against humanity that the USSR has performed easily and quickly. Russia has never gone through remorse and de-colonization pains. That's why it remains a criminal state today, led by a war criminal.
