RCGP members: voting still open for council members (inc me, and Louise Irvine, who I nominated).
(evidence based policy and preventing conflicted decision making...)
Some of the best scientists and the brightest people I know are GPs. And no one becomes a GP because they couldn’t specialise; General Practice is one of the most demanding areas of medicine (in fact it IS a specialty) and it attracts some of the very best.
Dear general public - sorry we (GPs/primary care/NHS) can’t offer service you would like or need - we are working at 120% & demand outstripping supply - every practice is short staffed & under funded. New IT/phone lines might help a bit. But unescapable fact just not enough GPs
This hit me hard.
I am so sorry to the Junior Doctors that we have let down by not calling for this sooner.
I am sorry to my children and parents who if they stay in this country will likely have a poorer health service.
I am sorry to the public for not shouting louder.
We have now administered over 7000 vaccinations, aiming for 2300 vaccinations this week. We are now vaccinating patients in the 79-70 age group. If you fall into this category, we will contact you very soon. #NHScovidheroes#scgp#nhs#COVID_19

This is one of most important studies published this century. 29 teams used same data set to address same research question; estimated effect sizes ranged from 0.89 to 2.93 in odds-ratio units. Dramatic implications for observational research. @BrianNosek https://t.co/NoyN45ashF
