ILLEGAL HOTEL WITH 45+ ROOMS NEARS COMPLETION DESPITE DEMOLITION ORDERS

SAKINAKA, MUMBAI — An unauthorised lodging and boarding hotel operating with more than 45 rooms at Ahuja Textile Industries, 44D, Safedpool, Andheri Kurla Road, Sakinaka, Mumbai-400 072 (Beat No. 162) is reportedly close to completion, in flagrant violation of municipal orders.

NOTICE ISSUED, SPEAKING ORDER PASSED — YET WORK RESUMES

A notice (No. L/DO1L/162/354A-MMC ACT/L894N01/17-02-2025, dated 17/02/2025) was served on the premises, followed by a Speaking Order on 20/02/2025. The schedule of violations includes unauthorised addition, alteration, and internal development beyond the approved plan sanctioned by the Executive Engineer (B.P.E.S.), executed using M.S. angles and channels.

L WARD ORDERED DEMOLITION — WORK STOPPED, THEN RESTARTED

The L Ward Building and Factory Department had earlier ordered firm demolition of the illegal structure and stopped the work approximately one month prior. However, construction has since resumed and is now nearing completion.

POLICE INACTION ALLEGED DESPITE MMC ACT 354A COMPLAINT

A copy of the complaint under MMC Act 354A was forwarded to the local police station, but sources allege that no action has been taken against the illegal construction.

CALL FOR INQUIRY AND MRTP ACTION

Authorities are urged to conduct an inquiry against Assistant Engineer Khaddkar, the Junior Engineer, and the Sub-Engineer in charge of Beat 162.
