@sotonbiosci@SiddleHannah@SiddleHannah it was a great personal delight of mine to recruit you nearly 10 years ago from Cambridge. If you’re returning to Oz still keep in touch.

@KASchindler27 A decade already? Can’t quite believe it. Hope to read even more ground breaking research from the lab at Rutgers in the next 10 years too!
I have 2 fully funded PhD opportunities to share. 1 in meiosis with @BBSRC and 1 in mitosis with @The_MRC. @CBCC_NCL. Links to follow below. Please share. Love to chat informally with anybody interested 🙂
Tianyu Wu, Keith Jones (@PROF_KTJONES) @SussexUni and colleagues find that in mouse oocytes, minor satellite transcripts play a protective role in preventing pericentromeric heterochromatin from breaking during meiosis I. https://t.co/bSzi6ThjC3

Being a journal EiC brings a new perspective on the scientific community. MHR is a reproductive biology journal and has a clear scope https://t.co/eqqwVi2f2Y This year we have had several papers submitted TOTALLY out of scope (eg on liver cancer). What is going on in these labs?
Absolutely. And much of the science education community must make more of an effort to incorporate statistics into curricula. Poor experimental design due to lack of basic stats flaws many studies.

I applaud @WorcCollegeOx ignoring A levels due to the inherent injustice in algorithm set A Level grades this year. Giving places to all offer holders is a just thing to do. The debacle was readily apparent to all and it is a pity the govt had not acted sooner.
I find the narrative here troubling. It should remain the default that at university, students are taught by people who are active in research.
Unis now but maybe not for long https://t.co/XqeM6spzDn
They ran this story 3 months to the day too late surely?

Hopes dashed on immediate international student return. However a $110M 725 bed student accommodation at North Terrace in Adelaide being planned. Brighter future ahead.

Clarivate have just released 2019 impact factors. Molecular Human Reproduction increases its IF to 3.636 (from 3.396). Thanks to all the editorial board, reviewers and importantly authors for submitting their work to MHR. Its a good showing for all ESHRE journals 😀
Very sorry to read this. I fondly remember conversations with him in the department tea room at UCL. He found time to talk and get to know postdocs such as me. A talented scientist. Geoffrey Burnstock obituary https://t.co/2y0V3WbXyb
