4/ Since the war in Gaza started, MSF teams have treated over 27,600 patients for violence-related injuries, with more than 80 per cent of the wounds linked to shelling. The only way to stop the continuous suffering of the population is with an immediate and sustained ceasefire.

3/ Al-Aqsa is one of the few remaining functional hospitals in Gaza. “The relentless Israeli bombardments and fighting for a year, and the limited humanitarian aid allowed inside Gaza, have brought the health system to its knees,” says Sabatini.

“Many patients arrived in very bad conditions with injuries to the head, thorax and abdomen,” says Eliza Sabatini, MSF nurse in Gaza. “The situation in the hospital was terrible. There were not enough beds for all the patients, and we had to treat people on the floor.”

🚨 We are gravely concerned about Israel’s bombing campaign in Lebanon, much of which is taking place in densely populated urban areas. We call for the immediate de-escalation of hostilities to prevent further suffering, injury, and loss of life.

Over 100,000 people have been displaced. Our teams have reopened our clinic in Baalbek-Hermel to provide patients with medicines. We are also receiving calls on our mental health helpline. Displaced people in Mount Lebanon are receiving care through mobile clinics and our teams are donating essential items.

#Lebanon: There was a huge series of blasts and bombardments last night in densely populated areas in South #Beirut. The situation is chaotic.

Thousands of people, including our colleagues, had to flee their homes in the dark with nothing, some fled on foot. Over 500 schools are full. People slept in cars on the streets. Hospitals are overwhelmed with the wounded.

Our teams are working around the clock to deliver water, hygiene kits, and blankets. So far, they have delivered 400 kits of basic relief items. We are also offering psychological first aid, while continuing to assess people's needs.

As the Israeli bombardment campaign of Lebanon continues, we reiterate our call that civilians and healthcare workers must be protected.
