@tactical_ape @txfblife Art Briles is a stain on Baylor, Stephenville and the entire State of Texas. Multiple investigations back this up: he fostered a culture that accepted rape and assault. Baylor grads should be embarrassed by him, not celebrate him. Same with Stephenville HS.

@universitycoop You rock! 🤘🏻

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

.@universitycoop Can we please get this in burnt-orange??? https://t.co/3nDFRjcVdU

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

@TomVH @Bond_Jacob They don't "have to" transfer, but *CAN* they do an in-season transfer? Or are they just getting into the portal early in anticipation of moving during the next window?

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

.@Nike @nikestore We've searched every corner of the internet and can't find Air Max Dawn White/Mantra Orange/Sail in Women's 13. Where can we find it????

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

@StewartRogers @ProductCamp @DGTLCast @dgtlcastHQ Guessing their founder will reply soon about the high costs of facilities, food, etc. Or point to the "free" tickets for volunteers or online-only attendance. It's just not possible to do the free model in the EU?! London, Berlin, and Paris ProductCamps have proved otherwise!

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

It was bound to happen eventually. Someone was going to take the @ProductCamp brand and try to turn it into a traditional commercial conference. @DGTLCast @DGTLCastHQ are doing exactly that with ProductCampEU. Ticket prices from €199 to €899 (!!!). Gross.

A thread about the warping of the ProductCamp brand. @productmarketer @donnaimamTX @cheubaum @rcauvin @sehlhorst @thomsinger @RichMironov @haigtweets @StewartRogers tag others who might be interested in this conversation...

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

If you're in the EU check out your local ProductCamp or start your own! I'm happy to provide help with that process, it's not hard. @DGTLCast I encourage you to develop your own brand for your conference, not use ProductCamp in a way it was never intended to be used.

In Austin, after I stepped away from leadership of @PCAustin we put in place a non-profit 501c(3) structure with a Board of Directors to ensure the local community could continue to benefit long past the original leadership. I'm proud that @PCAustin has continued for 15 years!

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

Cont'd: 4) Organized by and for the participants, almost always locally, 5) "No-pitch zone" meaning sponsors are welcomed to share in sessions but not pitch their offerings.

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

Free however for volunteers! What's worst is they're wrapping this in "un-conference" language and branding developed over a decade for BarCamp and ProductCamp worldwide.

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

Core tenants of ProductCamp include: 1) There are no attendees, only participants, 2) Cost is FREE to all participants and the camp keeps costs super-low to support this, 3) No guaranteed speaking slots, the agenda is participant-driven

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

For reference, I founded @PCAustin (inspired by @RichMironov and @ProductCampSV) and had a hand in working with founders of several dozen ProductCamps WW including: @pcampatl @RMPcamp @PCampBoston @pcampberlin @pcampchicago and many others.

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

I'm all for an ecosystem of different conference options for product professionals, like @MindtheProduct and INDUSTRY. But if you're going to be a for-fee conference, embrace that. Don't draft on the ProductCamp brand. ProductCamps are done by and for the participants.

@Tims_Rankings @TimBrando @CoachUrbanMeyer @TexasFootball Like nothing LOL. He was paid millions. His last 4 years were a disaster, recruiting fell off the cliff. Texas is high pressure high expectations, up or out. No one is crying for Mack or Herman and the millions in buyout they received.

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

@UHFan79 @TimBrando @BakerBryan @Tims_Rankings @CoachUrbanMeyer @TexasFootball Yeah. Coaching at Texas isn't and shouldn't be easy. It's high pressure & high expectations & they get paid $ millions. I'm not crying for Herman and his $15M buyout. When the media weeps crocodile tears and says we should give more time = accepting mediocrity.

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

@OJS1973 @BakerBryan @TimBrando @Tims_Rankings @CoachUrbanMeyer @TexasFootball Mack gets credit for Colt and getting us to the title game vs. Bama. He also gets blame for his hire Greg Davis running Colt into Bama's 5* DL and getting him injured and losing, and getting lazy on recruiting after (he admitted this!), especially OL! That's not boosters.

[Paul Young (ptyoung) @ptyoung]

@TimBrando @BakerBryan @Tims_Rankings @CoachUrbanMeyer @TexasFootball In his last 4 years at Texas, Mack Brown went 5-7, 8-5, 9-4, 8-5. At the same time, recruiting fell off the cliff. That's a "nice job?" Media talks out of both sides of the mouth: 1) "Texas can't compete for championships!" 2) "Texas has too high expectations of coaches!"
