@BartGonnissen Similar situations were experienced during COVID: states wanted the cargo, but no one wanted to allow the relief of seafarers, their lifeless bodies, or their problems. ☹️
@EmiratesSupport please help me understand what does this imply? Is there an alternative flight arrangement or my travel is fully disrupted, if ao how can I request an alternative booking.
Thanks
@EmiratesSupport While you are not replying to dm or post, fake accounts are approaching customers and trying to scam.
I have DM'd my travel details please help out

@Frangochioti@captsingh Blue cards are issued by the flag states on basis of certificate of financial liability issued by P&I, and the war risk insurance being discussed here is the one supplementary to h&m. A damaged ship will be paid for, lives lost cannot be replaced, especially when u dont sign up 4
⚓ HISTORIC: Seafarers now have the RIGHT to refuse Hormuz passage.
✅ Repatriation at company cost
✅ 2 months' basic wage compensation
✅ 100% bonus if they transit
✅ Double compensation if killed or disabled
ITF: "No worker should risk being killed just for doing their job."
Finally. The crew get a say.
You've put your finger on the tension every Master feels: crew safety vs commercial pressure.
The difference here? AIS off. No insurer. War zone. And a bonus structure that incentivises risk—without asking the crew if they signed up for it.
Prokopiou is being called "bold." The crews are just called "crew."
@johnkonrad Also, not to forget seafarering has changed much from the time since u left sea, probably with a plethora of regulations and inconveniences to the crew, keep in mind the ship owner/ manager will want you to “adjust”.
@johnkonrad@johnkonrad finally speaking something practically helpful for the seafarers. But, here is the catch. American seafarers, as much as talented they d’ be , will be hugely costly to the shipowners, as they ll have significant pay gap compared to their counterparts in Asia/E europe
@captsingh The Master has to walk this thin line, ensuring his job viability with the company who he has worked for, and is well versed with. Greek seafarers union have better stood out in protecting their seafarers interests. @CMMI_India@mui_mum
@captsingh It’s painfully surprising how George Prokopiu, is being projected as a hero, for risking innocent lives, and I am sure without cosent. As a Master you have to look out for the safety of the crew and ship, but also for the profitability of the venture for the owner.
@ITFglobalunion@supbrow Sorry but this extremely inadequate, the basic wage of a Master (highest amongst the crew) is mere 90-100$ a day. How is that remotely viable for the risk of his and another 23 souls onboard. Also, nothing ITF does will have a standing unless backed by Seafarer Unions @mui_mum
@WSJ Ey, what's all da hype?
Dis wise guy bought war insurance—payin big premiums like a boss—while da real suckers, poor saps on his rust buckets, take da hits. He’s cashin in big by gamblin wit innocent lives, yet everyone still kisses his ring like he’s da cat’s meow!
