As I train for my first Half Marathon I will share lessons learned from my running group that equate to life lessons in hopes of distracting from the pain.
@Uber_Support Thanks! I just sent a DM! Appreciate the quick response as the delivery was sent to my moms apartment who is older. The building is now threatening to charge her the cleaning fee and she is very stressed from the experience
4 days ago an @UberEats driver urinated in my building elevator and I have yet to receive a response from the company… @Uber@Uber_Support Definitely using @SkipTheDishes from now on.
I stopped running for quite a while once winter came along, but during this period of self isolation I’m finding little quick runs to be what’s keeping me sane
I did my longest run to date today: 13k. I found myself exhausted by the end and have now realized it's time to start experimenting with some fuel but I find it hard to wrap my mind around the fact I need fuel to get through this. SImilar struggles?
#TakeABreath Lately on shorter runs I find myself turning the music off and focusing on my breathing. It used to stress me out when I could hear myself breathing heavily during a run, but now I listen closely and pay attention to my oxygen intake
Last night we set out to do a #temporun and like a true rookie I did not account for the distance of this run- sprinting ahead at the start and feeling the wind beneath my feet. To train properly you need to pay attention to your distance and be careful not to overexert yourself.
While listening to Missy Elliott's "We Run This" I thought, other than exercise what else do you run? Ask yourself #WhatDoIRun? Your life. Your Habits. Your choices. Your company? The WORLD (s/o @Beyonce). There's so much in life you can't control, so focus on what you can run.
@ashmei@UKRunChat Staying hydrated in warm temperatures is extremely important! If I don’t have a waterbottle with me I know water is readily available on my routes (fountains) and it’s a short run #hydrate
When you're active this can reduce symptoms of withdrawal, reduce cravings, and lets you relieve stress in a healthy way. Personally, I choose #boxing as an outlet but running is a quick and easily accessible alternative.
When asked #whydowerun the motivation for one fellow runner was to quit smoking. Running has huge health benefits and this is one case where I support trading one addiction for another. Triggers: Stress, frustration, feeling overwhelmed - replace your cigarette with a #run.
Today's question was #whydowerun? Everyone has different motivators; make friends, set new goals, pull my life together, love myself again, learn about my body. If you have a goal, you're on the right track. #goal#motivation
Lesson of the Day (LOD): We train on hills so that during a race when we reach the top, others stop to rest - but we keep moving and push forward. #running#lifestyle#ProTip
