India has approved a fourth rail line through the #SiliguriCorridor — the strategic land bridge connecting mainland India with its eight Northeastern states.

For decades, the corridor was regarded as India’s greatest strategic vulnerability: a chokepoint that, if severed during conflict, could isolate the entire #NorthEastIndia. That perception is now being fundamentally rewritten.

In a decisive policy shift, India is transforming the fragile ‘#ChickenNeck’ into a muscular ‘Elephant’s Trunk’ — expanding its effective security depth from ~22 km to ~42 km while strengthening strategic connectivity, layered and unified defence, modern border surveillance and intelligence gathering.

INS Vaghsheer: The last of the 6 #submarines built under the ‘P75 Scorpene Project’ to join the Navy. #INSVaghsheer represents India’s growing expertise in submarine building.
