In response to recent speculation surrounding the “Makkah Joint Defence Agreement” (The Makkah Accord), the following information is for clarification:

🟥Any external armed attack on any one of the three countries (Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye) will be considered as an attack on all, consistent with the inherent right of individual and collective self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

🟥The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, jointly signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in Makkah Mukaramma on Friday 7th August 2026, reflects the depth of the brotherly relations between the leadership and peoples of the three countries.

🟥The Makkah Accord is the culmination of years of discussions and coordination, with a common desire to strengthen strategic cooperation in addressing multifarious peace and security challenges and advancing regional peace, stability and prosperity.

🟥The Makkah Accord does not abrogate or replace any existing bilateral or multilateral agreements between these countries, or with other countries or organisations.

🟥The Makkah Accord is purely defensive in nature. It is not targeted against any country and its sole purpose is to further strengthen our ongoing efforts towards peace, stability and prosperity in the wider region.

🟥The Makkah Accord remains open to any country in the region willing to uphold its fundamental principles and resolve differences through mutual respect, cooperation and peaceful means.

🟥The Makkah Accord is consistent with the fundamental pillars of our foreign policy, Pakistan looks forward to continuing to work closely with all brotherly countries in the region towards lasting peace and stability. ■ 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Google's expanding presence in Pakistan, alongside the country's first Chromebook assembly line with capacity of up to 500,000 units annually, marks an important step towards a broader technology ecosystem spanning digital skills, AI, local manufacturing, jobs, supply chains and potential technology exports.

■ 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: Budget FY27 strengthens the enabling environment through continuation of the 0.25% concessional tax regime for IT/ITeS exporters through 2029, measures to reduce the cost of international digital payments, and continued support for IT export development.

26 billion Rs (100 million $) mega project was launched in march 2024 to construct a new terminal building on the southern side with following ;

Check-in counters : being increased from 35 to 65 in international & 13 to 28 in domestic.

Immigration & Customs : being increased in departure from 18 to 80 counters and arrivals from 18 to 60 plus counters !

Baggage handling would increase from 2 to 6 belts. NESPAK is the contractor for PAA ✈ incl. ILS category 2

Four brand new glass bridges would be installed on this facility to increase passenger handling capacity from current 6 million to 12 million 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Main runway featuring 3.3 km long concrete surface was rebuilt couple of years ago at the cost of 6.5 billion Rs in tandem with multi story car parking.

Airside work on secondary runway, taxiways, remote stands for category F standard is ongoing at the cost of 20 billion Rs, in addition to this 📋
