There’s a bigger discussion to be had here, especially with the broader TCG market cooling off and prices pulling back across the board.
Palworld isn’t immune to that, but there’s still an active community of people who genuinely play the game, and I think that’s an important distinction to make.
And honestly, a lot of players are happy with where prices are sitting because it finally gives them an affordable entry point without having to pay ridiculous premiums for sealed product.
That said, I do think the overall slowdown is worth paying attention to. I also don’t see Pocketpair or Bushiroad slowing down their plans anytime soon, especially with everything already announced for 2027 and beyond.
(whether the player base continues growing enough to support all that is the real question, but time will tell)
I have noticed a much larger supply of Palworld BP02 around MSRP, and I think part of this comes down to the speculation and greed we saw after Set 1.
My theory is that some retailers sold enough of their initial allocation to cover costs, then held back additional inventory expecting another massive price increase. We saw how quickly Dawn of Palpagos took off, so naturally everyone wanted to position themselves for the same thing happening again.
But here’s the problem.
When everyone expects the same outcome, they start buying and holding inventory based on what they think the next person will pay, rather than what the actual market can support. Things get ugly when stores start competing to move that inventory and prices get pushed down further regardless of whether the actual player base is growing.
I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing for Palworld. The game NEEDS affordable product if Bushiroad wants people showing up to locals, building decks and competing.
But we also have to recognize that a healthy player base and a healthy speculative market are two completely different things.
(and I think set 2 is giving us our first real opportunity to see the difference)
The bigger concern for me is what happens when retailers start reducing future orders because their expectations werent met. That’s how a speculative cooldown can eventually affect distribution, availability and the long term growth of a TCG.
(could be bullish or bearish, depending on how you look at it. scarcity can drive demand and supply)
So I wouldn’t necessarily interpret boxes sitting at MSRP as bad, but I also wouldn’t ignore what the market is telling us.
(this has been a high risk, high reward market from the very beginning, especially with palworld entering the collectibles space as a new speculative asset. so yeah, depending on your perspective, it absolutely could be a game of hot potato)
Just gave this a try was way too funny. Imo feels more like a fun more casual deck. Tho, could still take a win even against a couple of the meta decks. The level of fun the palworld deck building scene is just the best rn. Lol.
Hi to the people who voted for Democrats… let me explain to you what just happened today.
The stock market just crashed hard. The Nasdaq dropped over 5%, the S&P fell more than 4%, and trillions of dollars disappeared in one day. Investors sold because they believe the Democrats who just won will slow down AI and block new data centers.
AI has been one of the main things driving the economy and stock market higher. When people think that growth is about to get slowed or paused, they pull their money out. That’s exactly what you’re seeing.
Now, here’s the part a lot of people miss. The same politicians promising free healthcare for everyone just made investors think the big growth engine is getting throttled.
Healthcare costs money. A lot of money. That money comes from taxes on a growing economy and from the wealth that growth creates. If you slow the economy down, there is less money to tax and less wealth to go around.
You can’t hand out free healthcare (or anything else) when you’ve just made it harder for the country to produce the money that pays for it.
That’s what happened today. The market is reacting to the idea that growth is about to get restricted. And growth is what funds everything else.
Isn’t socialism great? 😬
@ryancohensucks I'm not waiting for anything. I'm invested in a company that went from losing $300m a few years ago to now making $1B+ this year. They have no debt, Billions in cash and a 10% position in eBay. He's doing exactly what he said he would do and the market just hasn't caught up yet
@PalworldTCGtips@cdntradegrljenn This was the dumbest thing I’ve ever read . Put your optical views aside for a sec . You really think Trump is good for the stock market ?
2 of the meta decks that are very fun if anyone needs a list for tournament now you got 2. If you wanna test to see how they play join the @Palifyapp as well. https://t.co/ipaP8zmbvL
