Following the impact and ongoing sector issues parents started looking into why nurseries seem to be struggling more than council nurseries in our area.

This is the reality of our whole sector. There is nothing left in the tank for us to even consider engaging with political aspirations to expand delivery of ‘funded’ ELC to 1/2 yr olds. Setting an agreed rate for 3-5 yr olds is a pre requisite to onboarding PVI

Despite being so close to achieving our campaign goals, the last couple of weeks have resulted in a surge or enquiries, messages, questions etc. Lots of parents still being misinformed, no info coming out of many LAs re the law change.

There is an exodus of staff from private and voluntary nurseries which is severely limiting the choice and flexibility of childcare which the First Minister promised to parents. At the education committee this morning I explored the disparities in pay which are behind this.
