It looks like officer association has become irrelevant in SBI because I am told working hours for officers in SBI is 10 hours nowadays and getting leave sanctioned is a herculean task with very little help from officers association which is almost monopoly one in SBI .
#India: We are concerned by reports of mass detentions of demonstrators, protest leaders, members of civil society organisations, lawyers and journalists, before and during today’s large-scale demonstrations in Delhi.
We call on the authorities to ensure that the right to peaceful assembly is fully respected and fulfilled.

Govt forced Bankers to open on Sunday for customer convenience before Bank Strike, but stopped Trains & Metros before CJP protest.
Convenience... Suddenly irrelevant!
All of us bankers are citizens and voters in a democracy.
So ask yourself:
Why is the voice so loud against our own union leaders, but so muted when it comes to questioning the Government for its continued indifference towards the genuine demands of bank employees?
Where is the strong political voice for bankers?
Did a single politician stand with us when we were agitating on the streets?
Has the Finance Minister made a single unequivocal statement standing with the banking fraternity?
Has the Prime Minister ever publicly addressed the genuine concerns of bankers ?
WHY are those who abuse union leaders today not equally vocal against the policy-makers ?

I'm hearing from many of my ex-colleagues that working in a PSU banks right now is extremely stressful..
Banking work culture has gone from better to worse. Once was treated as a respected profession to now become a target-driven culture.
Daily morning calls for 30–60 minutes.
Daily evening performance reviews for nearly 1-2 hours.
Targets., Follow-ups, etc..
If employees spend 3+ hours every day in calls about speaking targets, when exactly are they supposed to do the actual work and how the productivity will increase?
Branch Heads and officers are under constant pressure to perform which is taking a serious toll on their well-being.
No human values.
No work-life balance
No ethical responsibility.
Everyone at the top wants to safeguard their skin for their own position and secure the next promotion. So, they automatically putting the pressure down the hierarchy to any extreme.
A bank is not a call center where employees can be pushed endlessly until a number is achieved.
They too are humans. You can't build a sustainable business by destroying the people who runs it.
This constant pressure cannot be ignored anymore. We are seeing many employees taking their own lives due to this pressure, and management needs to seriously look into what is happening on the ground.
Targets are important.
Business is important.
But no target is more important than a human life.

ज़िंदगी के सफ़र में गुज़र जाते हैं जो मुक़ाम,
वो फिर नहीं आते…
Part 1: the Employees — the true soul of PSBs
The tragic deaths of two young employees on 27th last are indeed very disturbing !
Banking in PSBs is a responsibility, not just numbers. PSBians have always stepped up—be it Demonetisation or Covid.
In this two-part series, I decode why we must focus on the human angle before chasing NextGen AI and savvier PSBs.
Without addressing staff shortages, career paths, mentoring and counselling, we cannot build a workforce that makes PSBs “cool.”

🚨 BIG RELIEF for bank employees
5-day banking may soon become a REALITY as the IBA-UFBU’s 12-member HIGH-LEVEL committee EXAMINES the demand to DECLARE all Saturdays holidays.
The committee is expected to work on a roadmap, after which further decisions will follow.
बैंकर होना आसान नहीं है।
(Tag a family member or friend, who needs to hear this.)

Why are so many people from the banking industry dying by suicide?
This is a very serious issue that needs more discussion and attention.
Authorities and banks must take concrete steps to help employees cope with stress and, more importantly, address the workplace pressures that create such extreme stress in the first place.
Employee well-being cannot be ignored.
Strike ka itna prachar prasar kar diya hai ki Aisa lag rha hai jaise customers strike pe hai.
2 din se kam aa rahe hai.
Aapke branches ke kya haal hai?
An average SBI employee managed 987 customers in 2014.
