I had the privilege of working with Adele and spending time with her in my early 20s - for around 3 years. Everything reported here is true, and the way she was targeted and stalked by police was nothing short of terrifying. I won’t go into further detail as this is her life - but those of us who knew her and worked alongside her in any capacity knew what was done to her - due to her work on this topic.
I was only around 23 when I met Adele, very new to the field, having been doing this work since I was 19 - and what had happened to her, and what was still happening to her - taught me a great deal about police corruption and how systems can be weaponised extremely quickly against professionals who speak out about the ‘wrong’ thing.
I never forgot the things they did to her - and I’ve since seen those tactics multiple times towards others.
Been speaking to magistrates in south London this evening with @WIP_live about out of court resolutions and the London Women's Diversion Service. Great opportunity to talk about the benefits of diversion and inform magistrates how police make case disposal decisions.
At long last the hard work of #JENGbA#jointenterprise#notguilttbyassociation is being recognised. Those we have worked with over many years; the families, prisoners, lawyers, academics, MPs etc. We salute you all, for your courage to battle on with this difficult legal torment.
In a crowded space, this is one of the worst Ofsted reports into a home for children in care I have read. The provider is Woodland Initiative Ltd. Inspectors warn that that children who live in this service are not safe. Bleak.
