🗣️ “Arsenal needed and wanted a player who could raise the level of their attack. Tzolis came in as a replacement for Trossard, while Martinelli has not been replaced yet, and Nwaneri is on his way to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

Vinicius was the main target, particularly for Arteta, and the club’s hierarchy were prepared to back the deal financially in a huge way. Julian Alvarez was also a long-term target, but signing either player was not possible.

As for Fofana, Arsenal viewed him more as an investment for the future, a player they could develop. With limited options available, it seems Arsenal decided to wait until January or next summer and rely on the current group.

That doesn’t mean Arsenal lack attacking options, but their pursuit of those big names shows they were aware they needed reinforcements. However, executing those deals is difficult, particularly financially after the amount they have spent in recent years.

Even so, I don’t think Arsenal are in a bad position, and I think they’ll be fine.”
